Derek Jeter Autograph Card Forgery Ebay Seller Clubcards COA GAI Sold For $62.69

Here's another one of those Derek Jeter forgeries slabbed by GAI as "Authentic."

Thousands of Jeter forgeries on his minor league cards were slabbed by GAI as "Authentic."

This Derek Jeter forgery is listed by Ebay seller Clubcards.

Here's a previous thread of mine where I show examples of the different Derek Jeter minor league cards that were all penned by the same forger as the ones sold by Ebay seller Clubcards.

Christopher what do AUTHENTIC older Derek Jeter signed cards typically go for? I would like to add one to my collection soon.

All depends, Ryan.  Sometimes you can get a great deal if you get lucky.

Unfortunately, some people are paying between $60.00 and $150.00 for those GAI Slabbed Forgeries shown above.

Authentic ones to look for are his 1993 Classic, 1992 4-Sport, 1995 Action Packed and 1992 Little Sun.

Those GAI Slabbed Forgeries are all poor attempts at Jeter's 1994 Signature Rookies autograph.

Below is a side-by-side view of a fake and an authentic 1994 Jeter Signature Rookies autograph card.

The one on the left is the horrible forgery and the one on the right is authentic.

Yeah I really like his old signature alot, it's actually cool to see the evolution of the "humps" which are actually K, J, T.

I am going to be on the lookout for an old Jeter sig. Doesn't even have to be on a rookie card. I had to sell my only Jeter a few months back and I miss it damnit. LOL.

Thanks for posting this Christopher

You're welcome.

The person who penned these GAI Slabbed forgeries, also penned hundreds of forgeries of Walter Payton, Brett Favre and others.

There are thousands of these GAI Slabbed forgeries out there.

Disgusting.

And the sellers who sell this garbage, must take full responsibility for listing and selling these forgeries.

Every Ebay auction reads "Seller Assumes All Responsibility For This Listing."

If a seller doesn't know that these obvious forgeries are forgeries, then they shouldn't be selling autographs.

As long as they sell autographed items authenticated by one of Ebay's approved companies(which unfortunately GAI still is) they will never get in trouble with Ebay.

I have also seen some terrible looking Jeter autographs with Steiner LOAs and they will never be questioned by Ebay either.

It's unfortunate because for awhile there Ebay was removing these Jeter GAI Slabbed forgeries.

And those are ugly forgeries.  I first spotted them a few years ago on Ebay.

I agree. but many of them adopt the "I didn't know it was fake" defense.  As if that absolves them from responsibility.  It doesn't.
