are these real early signatures or fake? Can anyone help?

Moderator note:  Member Nigel Young rec'd information about his items being forgeries.  He then removed all information on this thread pointing to those items, and posted them on eBay for sale.  His seller name is bluecityboy1969.  He has since been banned from the forum.

Not v computer savy so am unsure what removing a thread means, but clearly putting U2 up for sale as genuine after all the advice he was given to the contrary is awful.  Bitter  experience , however, has taught me that it doesn't mean because you have loads of stars on e bay  as this dealer  has & 100 % feedback that you are not selling fakes, sometimes knowingly.    Lets hope that the seller ended the listing rather than selling it off e bay.  Whoever posted that monkey up summed the situation up beautifully!

I found it puzzling that someone with a such a solid Ebay reputation would even consider playing with fire and ignoring several posts suggesting that it did not appear to be authentic.  It doesn't appear that he had any contrary opinions at all that would convince him that it was okay to sell.

Another side note, if this even had a somewhat close appearance to an authentic example, it would have been sold in no time flat at the original $200+ price listed.  There are numerous fans and collectors who can spot the real deal.

Michelle, to answer your other question, he removed his own responses from this thread, which is why some of our posts appear especially awkward - the posts they are in response to have been deleted.

Mr. Young sent an email that he did not say in his eBay listing that the U2 autographs were genuine.

I checked the listing under his bluecityboy1969 eBay name and he is right, he does not claim they are genuine.

So what are you guys getting all hot about?

:)

Ha.  It wasn't implied either, especially by the $200+ buy it now price for a vinyl that's worth $10-15 (if that) in mint condition.
