My sister was a "stewardess" for National Airlines in the late 1960's. Ray Charles was on one of her flights and signed an "Occupied" seat card and gave it to her. I have the card. What would be its worth? While researching online, one source listed $400...but I'm not sure...can add a picture.

Agree with Steve, not signed by Ray

I just have to agree with the others and say that this Ray Charles autograph is not genuine. I will try to get a copy of the book where I have seen one of the few real Ray Charles autographs and when you see it, you will see the difference between that autograph and your sisters.

that would be awesome to see an authentic specimen...very interesting! Thanks.

This is not real. He was always a hard signature to obtain.

Hello,

A few months ago, I have seen this one (See below) ! It was sold for 500 euros by a French seller xpautographs.com. I look for this autograph since many years. I was too reluctant to take a decision and the autograph was sold.  The seller told to got it personally.

If this autograph is genuine, I will be very sad to miss it... Besides, Ray dated !!!

That one is definitely a forgery.

Ok... it is a pity if this seller sells forgeries. Fortunately, I did not purchase it !

Do you have any proof that this comes from XP Autographs? Because I know him as a honest dealer...

I regularly look at his updates. At the beginning of the year, he proposed this photo and I kept the image for my Ray Charles autographs archives. It was very quickly sold but I am sure that it was his website. If you know him well, you can only ask him if he sold this photo...In any case, somebody can prove that the photo comes from this site, it is the buyer. But I do not know him !

Jan,

I don't know if XP Autographs is honest or not, but I searched their music for a few popular names and I didn't like what I saw. Here are a few:

Paul McCartney

Michael Jackson

I checked out some of their Movies/TV that I know, too, and was similarly concerned.

Looking on the web, I found the link showing the Ray Charles sale !

Here it is :

I don't know enough to speak to their honesty, but Ray Charles was blind by the time he was 7. He couldn't write like that.
