Great topic! You've inspired me to do a blog on it. But...a few things I'll post here.
Did anybody see the story I wrote for Autograph that dealt with people getting autographs tattooed? It was a cool piece, and somebody sent us a letter showing their entire back and bald head...signed by the Chicago Bears! It was an awesome photo.
I also did a story for Autograph that showed a drunk woman having the band Blues Traveler sign her body. I should be able to find that photo somewhere and I'll post it.
Hi Josh, I will look forward to reading your blog when written. In comparison to others, my rail tickets seem normal!!
On Long Island around 1990 or so, the local radio station WDRE had a meet and greet with the band Jesus Jones at a local mall. To get people to come, they advertised that there'd be a prize for the weirdest thing brought for the band to sign. My pal Steve brought a frozen head of broccoli from his freezer and brought that along. Amazingly, he didn't win, and he never found out what DID win. Nonetheless, he did get something for his trouble that day—the nickname "Broccoli," which we all call him to this day.
Im about to go get some tequilla bottles signed by ray lewis on saturday. cant wait!
A couple of years ago, a group of fans were waiting outside the venue after a Foster the People concert. Many of them didn't have anything for Mark Foster to sign when he came out. Then someone had the idea to have him sign their shoes (their biggest hit song is "Pumped up Kicks"), and a number of other fans made the same request.
