Everything in all caps, all the time. And no punctuation. And frequent use of "LOL."

This is actually a tough one.  I guess no profanity is a good place to start.  All that does is exhibit is frustration and a lack of control, so that's an easy one to do away with.  Refraining from insults seems like another obvious one.

Not to be mean spirited, as I understand that not everyone is the world's greatest writer (I certainly am not), but I see people post things that represent an absolute non-effort at communication.  Please, at lease take a shot at a sixth grade level of writing.

No hostility towards others, keep discussions focused on topic, no profanity, no spam, no posting of personal information.. Bounce all those who do not comply.

Agree with everything, but some people deserve the hostility!  I always try to keep things eloquent, even-tempered and factual as much as possible (i.e. as opposed to emotion-driven), but there are characters in this forum that need to be called out for their own bad behavior on occasion.

I would also say that before bouncing someone, they should probably at least get a warning. Then, if they don't correct the bad behavior, then take them out. That is, unless, of course, their behavior is particularly offensive and heinous, I.e. making lewd and lascivious comments or mean-spirited remarks about someone's race, religion (ISIS, though does not represent religion!), etc.

Of course, I would also not want to limit free-speech overly much. Then, it could get to the point where you're almost afraid to post an opposing view. And I think that could be detrimental to the the overall feel of the forum. I guess I'm saying we should all try to be reasonable in our exchanges.

When I first joined I was asked for money to support a charity in which I thought was a little odd being a site all about autographs.
I'm not sure if we need a rule but just wanted to put it out there.

Hi Paul,

Do you mean the person raising money for a European charity? If so, suspended that person earlier this year. He's not a bad guy, and his charity is legitimate as far as I know, but that's not allowed here.

I say this is your playground and you can make the rules. If people don't like what you do, say or the rules you implement they can go elsewhere.
I'm for the most open marketplace of ideas possible so I prefer fewer rules overall. The self policing is fine by me. People act how they act and I make a judgement about them. It allows me to see how others communicate, their level of knowledge, their character, etc.
