What do you think about the "Klller" inscriptions? Are those not in his hand, in your opinion?

These are three I have with a small squiggly line under them. I am confident they are all good. I received a fourth I am not as sure about.Thoughts?

Chad - In my OPINION the pick guard is absolutely authentic. The clue is to the Thanks. It follows all of the others that Jerry has signed Thanks. Notice again the Z like almost to the Thanks. Jerry has a very distinguished autograph. May I ask where you got this?

I got these from the ranch with the help of Judith. The photo with the pic guard was taken in JLLS living room and that is his rug. Judith took a couple pictures for me to ease my concern about authenticity. They have been nothing but nice and accommodating to me. I appreciate the contact they maintain with the fans.

Jeffrey Prater seems legit to me, but we're going to talk tonight after he gets home from work. We spoke for a minute already but I had to get back into a meeting.
Jeffrey and I chatted for an hour this evening. I have absolutely no doubt that Jeffrey is telling the truth about his history with Jerry Lee Lewis.

Thanks Steve. As I prefaced to you on the telephone I do not want anyone thinking that I'm bragging about my collection. I've given away about 70% of my collection to young fans of Jerry Lee Lewis. I'm hoping that all of this mess gets resolved soon so the FANS - the one whom bought his albums and made Jerry the icon that he is, has a trust. It is very easy to do to accomplish this. Just need good management, unfortunately in my opinion which he has zero right now. Also for those of you whom are Jerry Lee Lewis fans please keep him in your prayers. He is having back surgery. His show at the Westbury Music Festival in New York has been cancelled. We'll see if he makes it to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. - Jeffrey

He will be in my thoughts!

Mark

I agree that it’s a mess, but not in the way that you think. Consider that JLL claimed that his “hand is already getting tired from signing all these books.” I believe that the book signatures back up that statement. Otherwise, it would seemingly be a difficult task to restore trust in someone who would blatantly lie to and cheat his fans that way. He would be as untrustworthy as would be his current management.

Without getting into the signatures themselves, the behavior of the people and companies involved does nothing to support the notion that JLL actually signed the books.

The publisher, Harper Collins, didn't send anyone to oversee the signings.  According to PIX11, it didn't even nail down arrangements for someone else to do it.  HC thought it would be JLL's manager. The manager said it was J.W. Whitten and then never returned follow up calls and emails.  The publisher offered to provide JW to speak to PIX11 and then mysteriously said he wasn't available.

This behavior doesn't comport with the notion that people are trying to be straightforward and above board. Quite the contrary. It seems very unlikely all this would happen if the book signatures were on the up and up.

I have no idea why Whitten is unavailable for comment, but the only person who witnessed the signing may have been Judith. She clearly stated that “Jerry Lee signed 750 books. I never sign his name and neither does JW.” She subsequently approved the posting of that statement here on AML. That seems pretty straightforward to me. Again, JLL in effect stated that he signed the books.

Well then she won't have a problem supplying DNA will she to authenticate the autographs. I don't buy anything that she says but that is my OPINION and I've studied his autograph 30 years longer than she has. Not trying to be combative or arrogant, I CONCUR with Steve on the book signings PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION.
