This is from a letter to a retiring state judge in 1971 on official FBI stationary with envelope.  I have no concerns whatever that it is a forgery but wondered if Hoover used a secretary or autopen?  I looks to me like it was hand signed but I am not familiar enough with Hoover.  Any oopinion would be appreciated.

Although I don't know Hoover's signature, this one, to me, appears to have some shakiness in it that may be indicative of an autopen.

Hey thanks very much James.  In person it appears to be fountain pen at least in looks and color.  It is really very small and fits in the "Edgar" part of the scan at least on my screen.   I was thinking more secretarial. This was signed in December 1971 just five months before Hoover died.
