Check out this sorry PSA/DNA & Presspass autograph! Seriously?!

Okay, while searching for Jennifer Lawrence (my favorite young Oscar winner), I came across this Rosie Huntington signed photo that is PSA/DNA #U59169. This ridiculous autograph, if you can call it that, is being offered for sale on eBay for $200.00 by none other than Presspasscollectibles.

Now let me say that I had never even heard of Rosie Huntington. Apparently, she is a Victoria's Secret model. So seeing how this so-called autograph is a contortion of lines, I googled "Rosie Huntington autograph" to find some "known exemplars".

Guess what? No autograph samples came up at all! Just pictures of Rosie. So my question is, where did PSA/DNA come up with known authentic examples of a fairly not-so-famous semi-celebrity in order to authenticate this photo for Presspass?

Maybe the answer to that question is actually Victoria's secret.

Great thoughts, JJ. I agree with EVERYTHING you said. I too think that PSA is very necessary to the hobby. I think there needs to be a good referee so-to-speak. If all good TPAs went away, I actually think values would go down too. I think it would be harder for sellers to be able to convince would-be buyers that their items were legit. Also, PSA/DNA is USUALLY able to identify well-done copies better that the lay collector. They also have machines that can detect writing under altered baseballs, writing undetectable to the naked eye.

So I think it's important that they stick around. To do so, like you suggest, they have to stay legitimate by keeping up their standards, and not "rubber-stamping" items for selective clients.

Hi James, There is so much incendiary commentary found at opinionated web sites like this that it's nice to have a civilized discussion with you, and others, as evidenced in this thread. That is the only thing that will benefit the positives in this hobby and business, and dissipate the negatives that only help forgers and scam artists. Being on the same side with a united front is not just nice for those who take this work seriously - it's essential. Thank you!

Well, thank you, JJ. There's some really great people on this forum, and I can tell you're one of them!

I would never be able to call PSA the "best source of authentication" (readily available or not) with a straight face.

Sports maybe, but I'd never trust them with anything else.

I have been warning you guys about PressPass/Kyle Bell for years. Nothing that you see from him should suprise you.

What really bothers me is when the stuff from presspass gets resold it gets out into the mainstream and like a virus infects the prices of the authentic stuff.

What about him specific Steve, this Kyle bell.

Paul, you can look up his name on this site and reference past discussions, plenty there to hold your attention, or you can message me.

Th iis someone I actually KNOW. SHe used to send me Facebook messages about 3 years ago.. SWe met through a mutual friend. I have a lot of candids that Getty Images/ Wire Image would love to have..not for sale. I do NOT think ALL of those sigs are authentic...I think the first one on top is REAL. I have doubts on the others.. She never sent me a signed photo... kind of silly to ask her to send me a "signed" photo.  Would have ruined it. PSA and Press Pass are inseparable..buy on your best instincts.

Well, congratulations for getting to know a celebrity on a personal level. I didn't even know who she was until about a week ago. However, now I've come to find out she is not only a Victoria's Secret girl but she took over for Megan Fox in Transformers. So what's she like? Is she pretty down-to-earth? Not stuck on herself? It's nice to hear when celebrities that have everything in the world going for them and are attractive to boot, are also generally nice people.
James see if David can get you a date with her.

Shes into GIRLS LOL
