Purchased last year - fan club on Maiden Flight from England to New York

I purchased this rare fan club card signed by the Beatles on Maiden flight from England to New York on February 7th, 1964....not selling, but want to insure....

The Beatles couldn't have possibly signed everything that was offered to them. You could get to them in 1962 and parts of 1963. By 1964 they were basically cut off from the outside world. When fans wrote to the fan club they would either receive something signed by the fan club...or an auto-pen signed card. Same with Neil Aspinall's Beatle signatures. It wasn't to rip off anyone...it was done to try to satisfy the HUGE worldwide demand for something signed by The Beatles. These was no real monetary value associated with this stuff back then. After Lennon was killed in 1980...Sotheby's had the first real rock'n'roll auction in London in 1981.After that....Beatles memorabilia soared in value...and continues to this day. Lots of Aspinall stuff was sold back then as the real thing. Once you got familiar with his signatures...the fan club...and the auto-pens...it became easier to spot the real thing.

Well said Jim. In my early days of collecting I purchased many Neil signed items some for quite a lot of money. I learned the hard way. Once you study Neil's style he is fairly easy to spot. In my opinion this set we are discussing is indeed done by Neil.
