Hi Joe,

That's an interesting example...early 80's? Some little things seem odd, the "og" connection, the angle of attack on the "W", the lack of the final flourish like a "Z". Other things seem to be good. I don't have many early 80's to look at (is that what this is?). Much of this seems good, some seems to align more with much earlier sigs (the end of "Waters"). But the connection/formation of the "og"  - not seen that much. The relative size of the "a". May well be good - just atypical to me anyway. I'd likely pass for now, to err with caution. What do others make of this example?

Eric

Not sure Eric. It is different than his more recent signatures. I am hoping someone here who has studied Waters could offer me some input as to it's authenticity and maybe signing period. It's signed with an ink pen so I was thinking maybe 70's to early 80's. It came from a solid source but with very little information.

Perhaps late 70's is correct. But something still seems odd overall. Some of this is looking very recent? I'd have to pass w/o more data.

Eric

I don't like it...

Thanks, Andreas. I appreciate your response.

I am revisiting this Waters signature just to see if there may be one or two more opinions of this one. I understand this does appear different than his usual pattern but want to be sure. I have found a very few similar signatures but this is the Internet and not all one sees can be trusted. BTW, I got this from a UACC Registered Dealer so. Here is another example I have found with some, not all, traits of the original one posted. Is this simply a forgery? Thanks.

I would actually say yes to this one. Here is a signed album (~2002) from a recently ended auction. Similar traits to those above. Roger tends to switch signature styles up a bit, but there are apparent similarities in each style.

Thanks Corey! I feel a lot better about this one now. I initially felt it was good and I found a photo of a signed guitar he donated to charity which the signature looked like these. But, it is different than the usual so I starting wondering if I got this wrong. Think I will get a QP from Roger Epperson and see what he says too. Appreciate your input!

Let us know what he says.

I will. Thanks.

Here is another one that has similarities. This signed litho was sold at RR Auction on January 2012.

Here is Roger's opinion.

"I don’t think this authentic in my opinion.

Thanks

Roger"

End of story.
