Hello all! Just wondering has anyone dealt with sellers Spyrograph and Celstop on EBay? To a newbie like me, they seem legit and their autographs look good. Plus they seem to have thousands of happy customers between them. I would love an experts opinion on them if I could? Thanks in advance!

I have included an example from each seller for you to check out:

Hi,

That is not the Garland was was speaking of, for clarity. This appears fine.

Eric

My thoughts entirely, that's why I have been unsure as why sell authentic items with ones that are dubious as it can be open to debates like this.  I have seen some which look fine but then ones like this one below are not authentic.

This to me is way off and like you said have a good look before you buy.

Regards Mike

My goodness, Eric! That is so bad it's comical. Except, people are buying this stuff. Amazing.

Not seen any items lately being sold by spyrograph ? - Hmm.

I asked and he told me he was on holiday until September 10th when his next listings go live. He has always replied when asked about any listings. I asked why he changed his name and he said since he'd bought all The Alan Robinson Collection he thought it wise to use his old username.

Hi,

The name change came only months ago but the AR collection was sold in 2007. You said that all the AR collection was bought by this seller, and I read that it was estimated to sell at auction for £1 million.  Reputable auctions appraise items they sell for authenticity, yet when these items are being sold on ebay they are sold as un-certified, that's why I have been confused with all of this. I would never put anyone down as that's not a nice thing to do without any proof, but you can see why this topic has caused doubts for collectors.

Thanks for your reply.

Mike

I gather he never sold his entire collection and in fact since the 2007-9 IAA auction has considerably added to his collection and it was this collection that was bought up NOT the IAA auction collection.

I know this discussion re-started on the 11th August 16. It seems strange to join AL just at the time as questions are being asked then answering questions in detail on behalf of someone else. I don't know what your ties are with this seller ? I imagine it to be close, as to have the answers to the questions asked.            Why was it wise to use his old user name as you stated, and are you saying it was spyrograph, then JJ Buttons, and now back to spyrograph ?

I must state that I am only asking these questions as I find it all confusing, and as I have said before not saying anything to discredit you or the seller but just to seek clarity.

Kind Regards

So I went back and looked at Spyrograph...mostly garbage! For instance take a look at this Keifer Sutherland...it's laughable!

he seems to have a 50/50 split, right now hes got some shocking ones and some perfect ones, i purchased my christopher reeve through him, 100% authentic, and he's just sold another that was 100% authentic, so i think he has a mixed bag, just have to know the signature if your getting it from him. ill attach images of the signatures im on about. but i do agree he has a mixture
