I originally posted this in the wrong forum. Can you tell me if this autograph is authentic? It will break my heart if it isn’t, but the uncertainty isn’t much better. Thank you!

Hmm, looks like all three were signed by the same hand. But let‘s see what others say. Maybe I am wrong.

I’m not very familiar with their signatures, but it seems to have two strikes against it. First, the seller claims that it was purchased from Myron Ross. Second, Jerry Allison has misspelled his first name.

I don't see the Myron part part but if true I agree

Purchased in 2002 from Comedian Myron Ross, this rare cut is 100% authentic and will be guaranteed for life! Offered at low opening bid way under market! Cut is approximately 5 1/2" X 3 1/2". This cut is in clear plastic to keep near mint!

The last cut here on the right is a copy of a similar one that Myron sold and was signed about the same time but was not kept in plastic it's whole life and was yellowed. This is to illustrate the similar signatures.
Myron got both from a guitarist who personally knew Buddy and had these signed. At one time they were owned by the Scorpions or Ramones.

Maybe the seller is thinking of Myron Cohen?

These were issued with this autograph...

I didn’t put that in my original post, but I also posted this on Buddy Holly groups on Facebook, so maybe that’s how that info made it to this forum lol. But yes, my ex-husband purchased it off ebay and the COA is from Myron Ross, who I have read less than savory things about :(

After looking at your signatures, I would have to say they are bad, IMO. They look slow and copied. Enclosed is a copy of a real Buddy Holly & The Crickets signed photo from my collection, to compare to.

Interestingly, I found a nearly identical version of my autograph online. This tells me it’s fake. What are the odds these guys would have signed two pieces of paper with the exact same layout of signatures?

Two things I have to add here. Myron has had a number of Buddy Holly autographs (at least 2 or 3 sets). When I saw one in person, I thought....Hey, these are all signed by the same person.

Second, Myron loves to tell people "I got them from [insert musician here]." as if that adds some credibility to the story. But let me share a story with you. I bought a signed Doors photo. Easily the best Jim Morrison autograph I'd EVER SEEN on an 8x10, and from an original promo photo from 1967. Other Doors signatures looked perfect, too. Paid $750 for it. He said he got the signatures from the drummer of the Damn Yankees. Guess what, folks? I'm in the media. So, I did an interview with that drummer (Michael Cartelone SP?). He plays with Lynyrd Skynyrd now (my interview was a full page in Autograph Magazine, with great photos). He loves collecting autographs (of baseball players and Houdini). He told me "I HAVE NEVER had a photo of the Doors signed and if I did, I wouldn't have gotten rid of it."

I told Myron this, and much to his credit, he not only refunded me the money (and I couldn't find the original receipt), but he reimbursed me the $100 I paid for this fancy frame and matting job I had a store do. He said he'd have no problem selling it again, because it was real.
