I started collecting sports memorabilia & autographs probably 5-6 years ago now and haven’t added anything to the collection for a long while now, just started looking for new stuff recently. Most the time I’d prefer to get the autographs in person, the majority or what I have are from in person signings but I have a few from auctions that have COAs from GA. Now back 5-6 years ago say when I got those I look up the company and seen positive things about them which is why I bought the few I did, but as of recently as I’ve been trying to collect more I’ve seen some things saying stay away, now I know they’re better off than some random COA no ones heard of  like “johnnies authentics” but now I’m kinda worried. Should I probably just avoid them in the future? Most the time I look for PSA if I’m buying from anywhere but like I said when I bought these everything I heard about GA didn’t worry me.

Most avoid Global authenticated items because were known to cert everything I believe.  I've read that early on they were good but that changed over time.  But don't go based on the COA alone.  The autograph could be good still, but do some comparisons with other authenticated items by the more reputable companys or ask on here with a pic of your item.  Some pretty knowledgeable folks here!

Well I do know at the time I did try to compare them to pictures of the players signatures online on the same item, but one of them I just looked at is a Miguel Cabrera signed bat and I also I got his autograph in person on a jersey and baseball. The one on the bat that was authenticated by them doesn’t have his number after it, the ones I got in person both do, those are 100% real because he was signing in front of me. So I’m assuming that’s probably fake. Now I questioned the others which are a couple of my favorites and I’d be heartbroken lol

I have a couple items with Global authenitcation and for peace of mind got them reviewed by JSA and they all passed. So yes be skeptical but at the same time they do have some legit stuff.

well if you sticker everything chances are you will get some real stuff . the company sucks!! they should not be in business

I may do the same after hearing all this, I’m just scared to find out they’re fake lol

garbage! most of their stuff they certify is totally not good. worthless company

As Todd Johnson said, Global has a questionable reputation in the industry and their COA sticker may actually decrease the value of an item even if it is truly authentic.  However, I also agree with Todd that you should evaluate the autograph rather than the TPA.

I previously posted on this forum an item with a Global sticker.  Based on the consensus of members who shared opinions, the item was likely authentic.  There are several threads discussing Global and stickered items in general.  However, the general theme is judge the signature on its own merits.

agreed but if you sticker everything good you will eventually get a few real ones lol i woukd takevtheir sticker off or get another tpa to go over it . i agree with your philosophy do your homework and no tpa makes the item 100 percent real

beardog1, You are correct, It is all ways about the ink. The sticker means nothing. If you have enough exemplars and have hand enough autographs in hand to be able to tell the difference ……., what is the old saying, after 10,000 hours you are you are competent……Trust your gut.

Everything about that "company" is vomit.

ones bad always bad? several years ago i did contact steven sipe and he was honnest about what happened back than and think they did learn their lesson. but the only thing they should do is taken the ones who are bad from their database because these are still available on ebay and other sites or people have bought these already. they should have started again with a other name because when you know their story it never will feel good to buy a ga item. but again many companys have done wrong things in the past '' at this time i only collect in person autographs'' but maybe these companys will sign one or two by themself to make money? so keep asking questions to the seller or post the item youré interested in here or other sites before buying.

I have only seen one good autograph authenticated by them in all these years.
