As some of you may remember this photo awhile ago. I was going to snag it from the original seller for around 300 or so. I sent in a request to Beckett for an opinion and it FAILED. Hence why I didn't grab it. Now, Press Pass buys it from the seller and Beckett magically gives it the OK! Looks like Beckett will Pass for higher end dealers but fail for a regular customer!

It could be anything from the difference between a quick opinion and an in hand exam, or just a different opinion from another person (at either point), what you suggest, or even a mistake somewhere along the line.
To me (if genuine) it is another reason to trust your own experience and eye. No one cares about your collection more than you.
As a collector of Connery items for many years, this is not genuine and one I would pass on.
Then Brandon dodged a bullet! :-)
Makes me feel alot better! But this does have me concerned with Beckett. Although I think JSA is the same. I had a crappy experience with them at a convention. I never had any experience with PSA though, but I have several PSA pieces. Mainly a few Pierce Brosnans and a nice Brian Dennehy.
While I don't care for any of these services, I would not read too much into a quick opinions/signature review. I would trust Owen and your own experience.
I just reread Brandon's comment regarding Beckett approving the OP item for PRESS PASS after the same item had failed Beckett's earlier signature review when Brandon submitted it.
That's concerning (but not surprising) based on similar anecdotes I have heard over time.
I guess it was a good thing I passed. I would advise folks to avoid Press Pass. Probably have a lot of fakes that Beckett passed off.
That and they are horridly overpriced.
