I’m curious how everyone here stores autograph formats outside the standard 8x10 photo size. Most of my collection is in 8x10s with top-loaders and binders, but I’m starting to pick up more unusual pieces and I don’t want them to get damaged or lost among the bigger stuff.
Specifically:
* **Album pages** (a lot of older signatures seem to come this way)
* **5x7 photos**
* **Clipped signatures** (cut from letters, documents, etc.)
* **Sports/Movie card–sized autographs**
Do you use sheet protectors or binder pages made for these sizes, or do you go with custom mats, sleeves, or display cases? I’ve seen plenty of supplies for 8x10s and trading cards, but not much info on album pages and odd formats.
Would love to hear what systems or products have worked best for you to keep these safe but still accessible for viewing.

For anything smaller than letter size, I use cardstock with photo corners placed in page protectors. Been doing this for decades with no ill effect. The bigger stuff like 6x9 and 8x10 will be centered within the letter sized thick card stock. Anything smaller than that, I'll print something on the cardstock and make it look pretty. There's way too much to frame it all. This has been the best way to condense my collection.
For larger flats, I splurge on top loaders that fit or just leave them in the tubes. I try to avoid anything larger for this reason so I don't have too much. Books are the only bulk
Thanks Jason. Its just sometimes for some actors/actresses or historical figure, the best you can get is an album page or clipped signature. I find when you put in one of those 8x10 sheet protectors it just kind of slides around. I guess I could print a photo out and put the autograph in front of it
Was hoping there was some of those 8x10 sheets with multiple spots for putting things in similar to those for trading cards.
Do you mean like this? They make them with different sized pockets
Yes. Wondering if there is something like that for index cards and album pages. So you can put more in a page easily.
Yes. That would work. Thanks for showing Steve. Do you know where you can get these. or do you happen to have a link to the sales site. I really appreciate it.
Amazon or ebay. I saw them on amazon. Just search for index card album page.
Typically, I just use heavy-grade page protectors (from the dollar store) and acid-free backing boards (many of which I still kept from my time as a comic collector many years ago) for storage of letter-sized documents.
I have three binders where I keep a smattering of items - some vintage Canadian political autographs, some miscellaneous autographs (I think I have a signed letter from a Lady-in-Waiting at Buckingham Palace, from the 70s), and a third binder with all my miscellaneous Margaret Atwood signatures, including the entirety of a signed letter collection I bought from France last year.
I will eventually get to the point where I go pick up some archival-grade portfolios to store these items in, but I haven't been rushing lately - work and personal life keeping me too busy.
