Up for bid is a rare Mickey Mantle authentic autograph. This is a beautifully framed lithograph entitled "Fast Ball" by Joe Sheppard. #43 of 100! - with Mantle at bat. Purchased by my father directly from CHARLES HAMILTON in his office on W. 63rd Street in New York City, on August 2, 1993. Professionally framed with TRUGUARD UV Protective glass by Beardlsey Fine Framing of Wilton, CT. My father asked Mr. Hamilton to choose the one of his remaining lithos with the very best Mantle signature, and he chose #43. Huge 8" bold signature is in blue! ORIGINAL RECEIPT INCLUDED. My father has been its only owner. Charles Hamilton was the world's greatest authority on autographs. For example, he personally proved that the widely accepted HITLER DIARIES were fakes. Among Mr. Hamilton's prominence, he was the top expert on the often-forged signature of Mickey Mantle. Please research more about Charles Hamilton online. Everyone likes to tell a good story, but they never have any evidence to back it up. Anyone that buys anything based solely on a story from the seller is just asking to get burned in any field.

The story always seems to be the cover up to draw the attention away from the forgery. Once the story starts, the seller loses all credibility. I might give the benefit of the doubt that the seller doesn't know the item is a forgery, but once that story starts....

Awful forgery with a bogus "story", and eBay seller pointing out how amazing their feedback is. Imagine that.

I agree, that is the part that bothers me the most, the crap story. It's like he is standing on the roof top shouting "trust me, trust me!"

Hello. I am the seller of this item. My dad is an autograph collector and purchased many in his collection directly from Charles Hamilton. I have attached an image the original receipt for this item. If you think I am a good enough scammer to create this receipt as part of a bogus story, you have a right to think that but it is simply not the case. The fact is that he purchased this in Mr. Hamilton's office, directly from Mr. Hamilton, who literally wrote the book on forgeries. If you are so sure that it is a forgery, then the only explanation is that somehow Mr. Hamilton got this one wrong.  I am open to that, and I am researching it as best I can. I would ask that any replies are sent respectfully as I am not trying to scam anyone.

It's one of the ugliest forgeries I've ever seen regardless of what generic piece of paper came with it.

history aside, this is without a doubt a forgery.  Mr. Hamilton got this one wrong, it appears.

Respectfully, it is a forgery.

Your dad may have purchased it 22 years ago thinking it was authentic but as all of the others have stated clearly, it is a terrible forgery.

If you don't trust our opinions, spend $10 for a PSA/DNA "Quick Opinion" and you will get a 3rd party opinion that I guarantee will be "Likely Not Genuine" which is as strong as their online opinion gets.

A receipt for a Mickey Mantle signed litho doesn't mean that it is for this particular litho. I can understand Mr. Hamilton being fooled by close signature, but this one is not at all close. Mr Gill, please do yourself a favor and compare the signature to those that are known to be legitimate, you will notice a distinct difference. I also encourage you to do a quick opinion PSA, not to assure us, but to assure yourself.

I think Mr. Hamilton must have had an ice pick in his eye...this is as horrible a Mantle forgery you WILL EVER FIND PERIOD!
