My father wrote to JFK to wish him well after he was recovering from back surgery in 1955. He responded with the enclosed letter and signature. The letter is post marked from Palm Beach Fla., the location of the facility in which he was recovering.

Barbara, the future President must have really appreciated your father's kind thoughts, because JFK signed the letter himself. It's 100% authentic!

Kennedy used an autopen as well as numerous secretaries to sign for him, but yours is the real deal. Congratulations!
Looks a lot like the Senate letter I bought and later found out was secretarial. Lost $200 on that deal.
Sorry...it's a no doubter. It's definitely authentic. Just ask Herman Darvick or Andreas Weimer.
I had RR Auction look at scans of my Kennedy letter from 1955 and they said it was likely secretarial. I wish I kept scans of it to show you. I remember it looking a lot like this. Unfortunately I no longer have the letter and I gave it to a friend many years ago so there is no way of getting it back. I will be kicking myself if it turns out my letter was good after all.
Yes, I wish I could see a scan. I hope it wasn't too much like this. JFK can be a tricky one, and a lot of people get fooled by all the variants of his signature. Kennedy had about 17 different secretaries who would sign for him, plus he had about that many variations of his own real signature. I swear he was the Sybill of autograph signing.
I will have to search around and see if I can find the pictures I took of it. I will post them here if I can find them.
Thanks for evaluating this.
Just for some more piece-of-mind, here is a JFK Senate letter with a signature nearly identical to yours. And it is PSA/DNA authenticated.

And here is the PSA LOA.

I think that this letter is secretary signed. Please see my attached study sheet for more information.

I agree. From the study, the form and slant of the last name show #1, #3 & #5 are by the same hand as the letter posted here. The construction changes a bit partway in, but not quite so or in the same way in the letter and illustrations quoted. Excellent presentation.

Eric, did you look at the example from PSA/DNA I gave? Either PSA is wrong or Andreas is wrong.
