I picked up this 1991 Topps Archives reprint card that is signed in person at a hobby shop while in vacation. There was a showcase with piles of on card autos that were obtained in person. The guy in the shop said he bought them all from one guy who inherited them from his grandpa. Supposedly he did a lot of mail in autos. I recognized a couple autos like Stan Musial and Duke Snider. They looked consistent with what I know from them. I took a shot, not knowing Campanella's signature.

Let me know what you think. I didn't realize the authentication fee was $100 for PSA Campanella authentication.

Thanks!

I would be highly skeptical. Campanella died in 1993. The last few years of his life he was is in very poor health and his autographed showed it. If he singed that between 1991 and 1993 it shouldn't look nearly that clean. Here is en example of a typical Campanella in his last few years.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at this one as a comp?

Bergen County tried selling a Roy Campanella forgery.  Below is my thread where I post the forgery sold by Bergen County and an authentic Roy Campanella.

That is definitely not a legitimate Campanella signature. Even later in life before his health deteriorated, he had a marker or pen attached to his hand to have him sign baseballs which had the cover removed so they laid flat. Even those signatures were not neat or clear. This signature is too neatly signed. please compare to known examples of his later signature.

Thanks for the info. It was worth a shot, I'll dispose of it.
