As usual, I was perusing through eBay last night and saw this Mantle forgery.

I notified the person and said, you may have a forgery on your hands.

That's what I always lead off with.. Seemed like a  very nice person. I just think he's very

uninformed with the auto itself..

Hello ,I'm sorry but I respectfully disagree with your opinion,

this is a very nice Mantle autographed ball with the Scoreboard

Certs. I'm sorry you came up with that conclusion. I own several Mantle autographs ,

I am seriously thinking about sending the ball for a second Cert

and third party authentication from JSA, James Spence so I could get a

little more for the ball, but ScoreBoard, Goldin

Sports Marketing is a very trust worthy Company and has very nice Memorabilia in my opinion.

I would not sell a forged item honestly, I can only sell the ball for what I think its honestly worth

Mantle ball on eBay bring only what a bidder will offer but it does reflect the actual worth of the actual collectible.

Mantle balls are priced these days in the Memorabilia market price guide's at $750 dollars a ball unless authenticated .

They bring a little more .

Ten years ago the balls were worth $1000 plus. The ball is not a forgery ,

so I am sorry you feel that way,I would not part with it unless the price was right ,

Thank you have a good evening..sincerely Richard Viszneki...

Hi,

They all say the same thing when confronted about selling a forgery, which it is.

It's always about the money.

Yep.  It’s definitely a forgery.  There indeed some people selling fakes who truly believe their item is authentic and that might be the case here.  Well, if he sends it to JSA, he will be set straight...unless they screw it up which sometimes they do...but probably not with a Mantle.

the seller is in la la land.  Both with the authenticity and the price of authentic Mantle balls

This is listed by Ebay seller Visznek-0.

As you can clearly see, it is a common mass-produced forgery.  It is laughable.

It is certainly not a Scoreboard product.

The seller is delusional.

As most of is know here, one of biggest scams on Ebay are sellers using a modified/copied Scoreboard COA to sell their pathetic forgeries.  They know that the majority of people buy the COA and not the autograph.

As always, thanks for the great input!!

ScoreBoard product was good material. The problem is their simple 1990s era certificates are easily copied and attached to fakes. The COA with this item looks like a 10th generation copy.

This ball certainly did NOT source from Scoreboard.
