Hi Everyone- Would love to have opinions on this signed copy of Prince's Purple Rain soundtrack on CD. Real or not? All opinions greatly appreciated... -Syren

That does not look naturally signed to me - see what others say. He is very rare in any form.

Hi! Unless I'm missing something there's no actual text in your reply. Thanks... I guess (lol)? Nice to hear from you as always and I hope you're doing well. -Syren

Okay- now this is strange... I don't see MY text in my own reply to YOUR reply. Is the site experiencing some technical difficulties or am I going crazy here?

Hi Eric. I don't know what happened but I'm now able to see your reply. By "naturally signed" do you mean it looks like someone is slowly trying to copy the flow of a signature that they're looking at in the moment rather than blindly signing it as if it were their own? Yes, authentic examples are indeed rare. I've been lucky to collect a few in person like the one seen below, but I'm always on the fence with even the most compelling of 3rd party offerings.

I meant self conscious and as if forced. Odd forms. Looks like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar if that makes sense. It is also an incredibly distracting background...

The OP image also has a stylistic formation feature not seen in the second image, among other things.

It would be interesting to blow out the distracting border pattern and see only the ink. That would have to be started in the exposure I believe. I suspect it would look quite odd.

I can see the replies now.  Can you?

Syreena, could you post another pic from a slightly further distance?  It might help to get a different view.

Of course... posting now.

Looking at it some more, unfortunately I don’t think it’s authentic.

Not surprised. Thanks for your time and consideration James.
