did anybody else get that ozzy signed litho email just now?

this is what it said:

"Thank you for preordering the Deluxe Vinyl of “Ordinary Man”! Your order is about to ship and you will receive tracking information soon.

Please note, your free Limited Edition Ordinary Man album lithograph may arrive in less than mint condition. It has traveled the long road from being hand-signed by Ozzy, meeting up with your vinyl, all the way to your door.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support."

I responded right back to them and said..if this doesn't get to me in new/mint condition, it is going back and you are sending one that arrives to me in new/mint condition or i contest with my CC...I bought new items..not damaged items...they are trying to cover their own a**** over something they are not telling us about, imho..

I have gotten several signed lithos and NEVER have I gotten a BS  email like this, EVER..NOBODY DOES THAT!

Not even close, Brian.  The “v” is a dead giveaway.

Looks identical to item 164098933008 on eBay to me

mine doesn't look anything like that one in that item #

the question is, which one is legit, though?

Are we sure these ones that are listed originated from the online store?

Mine doesnt look like the one in your pic at all..TBH,I can care less if it is auto penned , because it was free..However, it's insanely shitty practice if folks paid for them and they are auto penned...These labels NEED to signify if something is indeed HAND SIGNED or just autographed. But, if they did that, people like us will pass them right up. I am guessing we buy the bulk of what is offered signed anyway. They would see a huge dropoff in sales if they did that.

At the end of the day, all we want is honesty if we are using our hard-earned money. These labels are snakes and have ALWAYS been snakes for a sale. All they care about is manipulative sales practices in order to move product and get as many sales of an album as possible. All for gold, silver, platinum or multi-platinum sales...etc.That is all they care about. And as we see, they will do anything they can to get those statuses, even lie..If they even rate them in precious metals anymore! ha!

The only Ozzy Osbourne lyrics I've ever heard were something about a "crazy train" and I saw his appearance on WrestleMania 2 and once switched between channels while his family reality show was on so I don't really care much about him but I find it hard to blame the musicians when these issues keep arising.

It's not just "signed CDs" that are autopenned but "signed books" from reputable book companies. I think when it happens on such a large level, then it's probably more of the sales companies trying marketing techniques rather than the celebrity actually being involved and knowing something unethical is going down.

Stuff like this has been happening for years and will probably never stop as long as people are trusting and continue to order. When I would buy a signed book or CD from an official site or a reputable book store I generally buy two copies just to be able to see if it's a 100% exact signature, as in autopen. I remember a UK website offering signed Bette Midler and Sean Connery books a few years back only for them to be most likely secretarial.

“People think I'm crazy, but I'm in demand.  Never heard a thing I said.”

It looks like there is (at least) 2 autopen patterns being sent out, one is a fuller signature, and one more abbreviated, but both match exactly.

Thanks all..good to know.

Wow!  Great detective work, Mike T.

+1

2 match in your pick with each other and the other two match with each other..mine looks like the two in the middle...so basically all of the cd booklets are autopenned! DOH! welp, mine was free, but my litho is legit at least!
