Hopefully, everything is good with it. I don’t think it’s autopen or forged. It’ll be worth a small fortune once graded.

Kendrick Lamar Signed Rolling Stones Magazine.

I’d kill for a full name signature.

Finally U2

Signed CD Booklet

A couple of recent pickups and a pre-Christmas sig:

First up is a signed copy of famed magician Marvyn Roy's 2015 memoir, "Mr. Electric: Unplugged". A buddy got this for me, and I was drawn to his story -- he passed away last year, but he left an indelible legacy, influencing generations of entertainers (several of his tricks are now in David Copperfield's private museum in Vegas), toured the world, did the Ed Sullivan Show... you name it. A bit of cursory research suggests this was part of a 100-unit limited, slipcased edition he sent out to friends and family, as this release also includes a signed/inscribed photo that was also included (shown below). It's quite an interesting read, chronicling his exploits as a magician and the development of many of his tricks -- wish I'd had a chance to get to know him.

Secondly, the signed memoir from Canadian journalist Peter Worthington, "Looking for Trouble". This was a book I'd been seeking signed for quite some time, as I actually had the chance to meet him several months before he passed.

Worthington was a very interesting man. For American audiences, he was in the famous photo where Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby (he can be seen on the left side of the photo reacting in surprise, having gone down to Dallas to cover the JFK assassination), but he was also a famed writer who served in the Korean War, built up his name as a respected original contributor/editor for the Toronto Sun and knew a who's-who of politicians -- not to mention being respected on both sides of the political spectrum, despite being decidedly right-wing.

I had a chance to sit with him for a couple hours during a meeting held at one of my previous jobs, as I was trying to publicize a fraud case and was referred to him by the Sun. He was a wealth of knowledge, and I only wish I'd been able to know him better. One memory stands out -- going to the viewing after he passed. I was standing by his coffin simply taking in the scene when a police constable came up alongside me to pay his respects. He commented to me that it was funny how this viewing brought so many disparate people together -- the cultural elite, politicians, the media, cartoonists, you name it. That talk of circumstance has always stuck with me, and it's somewhat-influenced my need to find signed items that I have more of a personal connection to.

Finally, as a Christmas nod, the second-oldest signature I own - former Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King's book, "The Message of the Carillon".

A signature I picked up this past summer, signed on Christmas 1927. Up until earlier this year, I had an unbroken run of items signed by all Prime Ministers from King (Canada's 10th Prime Minister) through the current day -- a streak I only broke when I gave my signed Stephen Harper hockey book to a buddy. I'm not the same Alex as the recipient of the photo, but this goes back to that need to want books with a more personal touch. Got it for a song (it's expensive to find signed), and to have the opportunity to have a compelling window into what life was like a century ago, signed by the man who wrote the speeches, was a compelling proposition.

Clara Bow Christmas card to Marlon Brando requesting a signed photo.

Remarkable item.  Congratulations on owning it.

Amazing piece, Mikex! I wonder if Clara got her request? A signed photo to Clara from Brando would be the icing on the cake.

Amazing! I’ve seen this before somewhere maybe a magazine or book but congrats owning this stunning piece. I believe he did send her a new photo. She also was obsessed with Rod Serling and wrote to him occasionally, I’d like to be the guy to own that if they’re ever found.

Yes, she got a few from him. You will see it if you Google

Love this. Great piece of Hollywood history.

Congrats!  That's fabulous!   I wonder if that came from his estate sale shortly after his death?
