this whole thing is beginning to smell...

I mean Eason's Ireland says you may or may not or maybe will or maybe won't get a signed copy from the preorder specifically for a signed copy!

And now Oblong is cancelling all these...WTF is going on?

Eason's stated while supplies last - its not entirely unheard of for them to oversell it. It happens, especially when a tidal wave of orders come in from a post on a site like this.

It is frustrating, but these outlets arent really geared for selling autographs and dealing with hordes of customers flooding their websites. They are doing their best in an unfamiliar situation perhaps. I think its only fair to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Has anyone asked Easons if they will specifically ship out non signed books with these orders? Or has anyone asked for their order to be canceled if they can't provide the signed copies? I havent emailed them yet, im still formulating the best plan of attack.. hoping id find Bono available here in the US and id cancel my Eason order but it doesn't look like that will happen.

You may be right. I ALMOST used PayPal, but at the last second, I changed to just use my credit card. So far, my order is still showing pending, so mine hasn't been canceled (yet anyway).

Re these cancellations:

I don't know who to complain to or what to do with these cancellations,

but it sucks so bad because all of us spend sooooo much time scouring and surfing the net to track down these autographs which we all cherish...only to sometimes find them cancelled with no apparent care or explanation from the sellers.

End of rant...

It can be terrible sometimes. Last year I had orders for Def Leppard at 3 different places (different signed items: vinyl, art card, CD booklet) and still ended up empty-handed.
