This is the Fake / Autopen to compare it with

itf, how did you find this? I frantically searched coles after your status post and could not locate it at all on their site

Hidden at the bottom of their newsletter email

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I searched multiple ways even just a basic signed book search filtering by price. This was not listed at all for every book in the £500 range. Nothing at all under Dylan. The newsletter may have been the only way anyone would be able to find it

It's strange they didn't publicise it much at all and also that is has disappeared off their website totally.

All out of stock books stay visible on their website for several months or longer, All except this one.

The link is still going to the site from the newsletter:

https://coles-books.co.uk/the-philosophy-of-modern-song-by-bob-dyla...

Just in case, I have that covered too

Coles publish a weekly members newsletter and quite a bit of their stuff either never makes it onto the website, or gets posted up as out of stock. Witth 99 of these in the UK, I doubt Coles have all 99 so it will be interesting to see if it pops up elsewhere too. £500 is a fortune but is cheap IF it's an authentic Dylan. Like others, I emailed and specified that if it's autopen I'm not interested. They're very reputable, along with Bookabook they're the only independents I use and I've bought many signed books from them including some pretty expensive ones. IF they turn out to be autopen then S&S / Coles will have no choice but to refund IMHO.

I placed my order over the telephone, and the sales assistant told me that Coles has an exclusive on this in the U.K., i.e. all 99 copies.

You must have read my mind Steve! I just posted a message seconds ago  asking if anybody phoned them?

Damn wish i had been more on the ball and phoned them too!

Bob Dylan Played in Oxford last week - 14 miles from Coles Book store.... so i would say 50/50  they are legit......

I was on this immediately, but only just responding to the thread now.  Many thanks to the OP.

Dylan is where all sense goes out the window, for me.  That said, I think this is a risk worth taking, despite the Indigo fiasco.  Of all the bookshops here in the U.K., I probably trust Coles the most to get this right.  If not, a return for a refund shouldn’t be difficult.

Fingers crossed this time.
