Did you look at the other items the seller has available? None come with COA. Besides, the prices are inconsistent on items. I'd avoid him.

I have seen these before. I believe they are authentic. It’s an early version of FDR’s signature so that is why it looks a little different than the later ones we are much more used to seeing. Typically these types of letters go for around $600.

I agree. Those letters were signed in his pre-polio days. Not sure if polio impacted his fine-motor skills or not.

I know Woodrow Wilson's signature changed after his stroke, although there was speculation Mrs. Wilson was signing documents for him.

The letter refers to a program during WWI where the government asked citizens to lend binoculars and telescopes to the Navy for the war effort.  These letters are a known item, and as far as I know they are authentic, but I am not entirely sure.  A little research might shed more light on the subject.

Thanks everyone  for reviewing the item. It's got many similarities to one I already have.

Your are right the starting price was a little low in my opinion.

I guess certain letters could have been  preselected  to be  hand signed by FDR.

I can't imagine he had the time to sign a letter to every citizen that made a donation

As I write this the auction has ended and the price for the winner is a great bargain if it's real.

Thanks again for your replies
