Dark magic.
If this was printed on the page taken from the book I would not call it a cut. One surface size is given. It says the photo print is hand signed. That Lugosi should have been "Cut/Pastiche" and this and that Trump mag, if what they appear to be, should be "Blank sheet/Overprint."
It was a cut, just like it was a signed book. Now...
I find the description of this "Tear Down This Wall" creation to be very brazen. Nowhere is there any indication that this item has been altered and the wording of it leads you to believe that Reagan intentionally signed what you now see encapsulated. The term "historic" to describe it certainly emphasizes that.
It's like the other thing, clear misrepresentation. The presentation is a lie.
In my mind if I saw that I would think Reagan signed the photograph. It reminds me of one of those razor cut cards that destroyed a signed document of Don Knotts to create a stupid "card." I would have paid far more for the genuine and very rare document.
All you have to go by is the non-photographic book paper it sits on and the manufacture method (very odd), the unusual size. This will fool people. There needs to be a few more descriptive terms to avoid this slipperiness."Photograph", "Blank Sheet" and "Cut" are not sufficient to avoid misrepresentation of any sort.
If you reread the current ad, there's seemingly not much doubt that it's meant to represent this as something it never was.
Photo print" and not "Photograph" which speaks to the paper and method of manufacture. I hope it fades.
I saw this exact same thing done to a Martin Luther King Jr. signed book. They cut the signed page and overprinted his famous “I Have A Dream” speech photo over it. Needless to say they are asking 3x what they originally paid for the signed book. 😣
