Tricky one. Seller is registered in Hong Kong so would be interesting to know when and where it was signed. There is zero chance of getting such a full autograph in the UK he basically just gives out squiggles and not many of them. From what ive also seen of what he's signed in the US such a full autograph is a very rare thing there too!

Have the Galaxy ever toured Asia??

Without knowing more and taking into consideration the price I would leave it alone

Not good . It looks like the seller is probably buying from US source. Look at his past auctions.

Yeah I did look but being from the UK I havent got the 1st clue about those US Sports

Not a chance in hell.  Only buy from UACC members.  They only sell genuine autographs.  I have purchased autographs on Ebay with PDA and COA from several big name sellers.  They were just a pile of crap.  I learned my lesson.  Only buy from UACC members.  Never got burned.  They do cost more but I would rather pay more than waste all of my money.

I looked at this on Ebay and acutally laughed.

That is an overreaching statement. There are a lot of good sellers on Ebay with integrity, who sell quality stuff at reasonable prices. A number of them are friends and chasers that I know personally. Everyone wants to trash Ebay, but the comments should be fair and balanced. Ebay does their best to weed out the bad ones. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad ones too. I can tell you from first hand experience that just because someone is a UACC member, does not mean that they are all good. Again, I have seen sellers at shows that fly their UACC flag and don't have a legit signature in the inventory. Cautioning people to do their homework and be very careful about what they buy is sound advice. Saying that everything on Ebay is bad and everything sold by a UACC member is good is too broad of a statement. Just to be fair.

You are right James.  Back in 2003, I bought an autograph from someone who was a part of UACC (member or dealer, don't recall which he was).  Some years later, I decided to get the autograph authenticated.  That person I sent it to for authentication said it was likely not genuine.  So I took my case to the person I got it from and he started saying it's just an opinion and it is real.  All the sudden the individual wouldn't respond to my emails anymore after further questions.  Came to find out through UACC he was expelled for forgeries.  Lesson learned - there can be some real crooks inside UACC and we just don't know it yet.

Wild statement David.

You do know that absolutely anyone can be a UACC member by just paying an annual fee. Their stock personal details nothing is checked. There are pages full of fakes being sold bu UACC members world wide!!

Using the UACC is description titles on ebay was a common trait of most known forgers until they acquired VERO rights

This Beckham, in my opinion, is bad.

Beckham is a tough autograph; some look good without a doubt some look bad.  The "Beckham circus" roughs him up when you get him IP most of the time, and you get a wacky looking autograph (so bad, that no one would believe you if it was real unless you had solid proof!).

I wouldn't go as far as saying "only buy UACC," as there are many places to get an authentic David Beckham that isn't a UACC Registered Dealer.  Icons has had signings with Beckham, and there a few more places that have done that; not many, however.

Calcio autographs are a tough one, especially when European-based players are involved.  A nice Beckham would cost no less than $150 and even that is low; I wouldn't doubt, though, that a desperate IP collector COULD sell one for cheaper but Beckham has always been an easy sell.  For the right price, of course!

As for recommendations: icons is always a good place, but autographs247 in the UK has also a nice selection.  I bought there once for a player my nephew likes.  Also, Andy Hemington of the UK (automem.co.uk) could help you, as he has done for me.  Hopefully you find something you like!

Agree with Mike

Whoever signed this copied a style Becks VERY rarely if ever signs anymore. I didnt right it off immediately as if it had been signed on an Asian tour theres a good chance of him signing fuller out there

Anyone looking at Andy Hemingtons website though should message him as the site is still in its early stages of listing his stock

Dont think Icons have anything Beckham at the moment

Sadly although there are many good UACC dealers and members there are a few bad apples that UACC seem to have failed to weed out so far. For example Member 9686 - The Kollectors Club sell only fakes and allow the novice collector to believe that as they are UACC then they are safe.

As for the autograph of Beckham, this is a bad one for me, not the easiest signer but this one just does not look right to me.

Something to remember. Anyone can be a UACC member, you simply pay the money and join. However, a UACC Registred Dealer is a much better beast. He has been a member for at least three years and does have to suffer the scrutiny of other dealer members too.

Registered Dealer members are all listed on the UACC website, so it is important that always you check when anyone says they are a UACC dealer.

True. Many collectors don't realize that.
