A terrible loss of a great American.

I believe you said, "but monitoring violations are the responsibility of the verified rights owner under the VeRO program." and that was not completely accurate information as they are but one avenue.  Most?  Do you have information that supports this claim?

Incidently; intellectual property owners could report listings that infringe their intellectual property rights and in fact to be a Vero; Only intellectual property rights owners can report eBay listings that infringe their copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. If you are a rights owner.

very informative discussion on images with ebay's legal department lately.  I don't disagree that if you are a Vero (as in being in the inner circle... it avoids red tape... but so don't the many EMR reporting members as well).

What are they trying to accomplish? I don't get it.

As dumb as people can be, I can't imagine anyone is dumb enough to pay $1500 for a reproduction glossy of a personalized photo.

If I was an eBay shareholder, I'd be happy these reprint sellers are listing like crazy. So I guess it serves some purpose. LOL

I would guess that seller is trying to see how many suckers would fall for that auction.

Howdy folks! I'm new to the board.

I'm looking for assistance (if possible) I professionally help seniors downsize for a living. My latest client, Mary, husband passed away. He was a collector of many things. One of which, was unusual & rare autographs.

Yesterday, while going through some of her husband's items, we came across a large number of autographs. In that collection, we found a NASA Postcard for Neil Armstrong.

Mary claims that her husband acquired it from his cousin who past away number of years back. But she did in fact, have a class with Neil & he signed this for her.

For many of you who know more about his signature than I do, would you all be so kind to validate if this looks real? She's like to sell it. (she is heading into Assisted Living & whatever I can sell for her at least she gets to keep that money)

Thanks all. I will have other to follow. Figured I'd start with this one first since its a hot subject right now.

Looks Authentic to me!!  I would love to buy it!!  As would a lot of other people right now!

Thanks Craig!

If you wish, you can email me an offer on it. As I stated, Mary is heading to Assisted Living at the end of this month & whatever I can make for her will go a long way. (The facility keeps all of her monies after she is committed.) Thus, what she makes off her husband's items is all she will have for herself going forward.

Hi

In my opinion, the signed postcard is likely authentic.

I thought the same thing.

I would love to sell this item for my client, and hopefully we get a fair, decent offer for it. I know I could post it up on Ebay, but they'll probably bust balls about not having a COA for it. Right....???

eBay does not require a COA and you should be able to sell it with no problems.

Bear in mind that it is an "off" format so the fair market value will be significantly less than a signed 8x10 photo or NASA lithograph. Prior to his death, I'd expect a signed postcard in good condition to sell for $1,000 give or take.

Now, who knows where it could land. Maybe about the same, maybe a bit more.

The surge in prices since his death is somewhat perplexing because, for all intents and purposes, he stopped signing 18 years ago.

I hope no one hits the BIN on this clunker. It's priced tempting enough that someone might...

Amazing how some sellers convince themself that it must be ok;
