Hello Steve, Been looking for an authentic Morrison forever and found this from Millionaire Gallery Key West. Only bought it because it being an endorsed check. would never buy a cut piece,album etc.due to all the forgeries. personally just brought it to James Spence last week and he and Epperson mentioned its a rare beaut. Just wanted to share it….Its part of a framed photo of Jim during his Gloria Stavers photo shoot….

Hi Paul, Ballroom mentioned his sig seems undervalued relative to its rarity. He's just saying that you'd think his sig would be worth more money because there are just so few of them.He's extremely rare. There is only 1 known signed album (Morrison Hotel) and i believe only a couple signed photos in existence. An inscribed and signed copy of The New Creatures was sold by Sotheby's a few months back for $7,000.-, and an endorsed check's value is about $5.000.- or so. There are currently 2 endorsed checks on E-Bay for sale and they are asking $8,000.- to $10,000.- for them. Good luck trying to find a genuine Morrison cut piece of paper which would be your least expensive option at a couple thousand or so. 99% of them are fake…Jack

Thanks Ballroom, I was just a simple observer of this site for a while before i joined. it people like yourself and Steve whose knowledge, and honest opinions on past Morrison examples helped me in my purchase of this piece. In my case it was easy because the check is a well known exemplar of his and in my opinion one of the top 5 of his signatures i would say.(my opinion only). After really studying the "known" exemplars for a long time, you really just get a "feel" for Jim's too simple and kinda sloppy smooth handwriting. i am far from an expert or on the level of others but there comes a point when you can see an autograph of his and just know if its real or fake. If theres a fire in my house, i'm grabbing' my dog first and then this….. i cherish it…Cheers
