Collectible, or creepy? Topps makes a "cut" auto from Joe DiMaggio's "Last Will & Testament"

Came across a pretty interesting card from 2015 Topps Triple Threads. This is a Joe DiMaggio "cut" autograph 1/1 card from this years release. When you look closer, you can see it's cut from his "Last Will and Testament"!

While this is definitely authentic, and a cool looking card, I have to ask: Is this too far? I'm sure Joe D signed several pages of this, and somehow Topps got their hands on some "version" of it. But it still seems a tad creepy... Judging by how beautiful the autograph is, it definitely wasn't signed a few days before his death. It could've been signed a decade before, but I'm still not quite sure if it's an awesome collectible, or just flat out weird. LOL.

Anyway, if you've got $5,000 to spare, you can buy it here:

Juliens Auctions sells morbid stuff (or tries) - unless fans get so upset they end up taking things down.

They had Michael Jackson's death bed for sale until outcry from family and fans made them pull it. (I expect some day to hear its back up for sale.... someone will try anyway).

Elvis first crypt was also for sale from Juliens.  He actually commented via press releases

“It’s a chance of a lifetime for one person somewhere to have the bragging rights to say that they are going to be entombed where Elvis Presley was,” Julien says. “We’re getting a lot of response actually… people are dying to get into it.”

That was also pulled due to fan outrage, and in my opinion the comment was in really bad taste.   Juliens did succeed in selling Elvis pill bottles.   Family tried to have those pulled as well but were unsuccessful.  Here is the story on the crypt.

Anything for a buck (although not seeing the entire paperwork on the DiMaggio, one cannot be sure its from HIS actual will, it could be witness to somebody else')

Disrespectful and despicable.

I think it's more of a shame when any important documents are CUT. Should be left as is!!!

I agree 100%. Creepy maybe. But I can't stand the idea that documents with potential historical significance and provenance are sliced and diced so they can be stuffed in a baseball card. Cutting up game used jerseys and bats from a period when such items were rarely saved is just as bad. A one inch square of fabric has no provenance, no identifying features. And a real treasure has to be destroyed to create it.

I have no issue with card companies doing this with items from the last 30 years. There is no shortage of Cal Ripken or Ken Griffey games used material. But Cobb? Joe D? Just wrong.
