l got him here in NJ about 10 years and he was the perfect price---nothing.....went to back ot line and no one behind us but they recognized the guy a few in front of us and that was it...got a ball with a few other harder players---Tino---Jorge---Petitie...Torre and Rivera on SS

We had a great weekend at WizardCon in New Orleans this weekend. While there, I had a chance to pick up a few in-person autos.
The first is my favorite. It's a Hot Toys Captain America Winter Soldier edition that includes 2 likeness' of actor Chris Evans (Captain America and Steve Rogers). He doesn't have the greatest signature but I appreciated the fact that he inscribed "Cap".
The Russo Bros. (Anthony and Joe) were also on hand to sign for free! They were absolutely wonderful. I hadn't intended on them originally signing, but it seemed appropriate since the toy was from the movie they directed (they are also directing the upcoming Marvel film Civil War and they are slated to do the next couple of Avenger films).
I also got a couple of my Enterprise ships signed by William Shatner. I was reluctant to ask him to inscribe anything since I heard it all depended on what kind of mood he was in. When I asked if he did inscriptions, he replied, "I'll put whatever you want on there." So I asked him to put Kirk he went ahead and obliged me with "Capt Kirk" on both pieces.
It was a great weekend, for sure, and I look back to going with my family each and every year.

This is some material from Bela G. Lugosi, son of Bela Lugosi. The letter references my birthday (not the correct year though), which attracted me straight away.
My dad had met his dad in 1953, along with Boris Karloff, on the same same day in Jamaica NY at a vaudeville show after a screening of perhaps Dracula or some such with Karloff I guess. What are they both in? The Invisible ray?
I met Bela G., Ron Chaney and Sarah Karloff at Chiller Theater Convention in NJ in 1995, and Bela Jr. signed for me. I had him sign "Dracula" - did not have the guts to ask him to sign "Bride of the Atom" - I would today though, and he would too I think. He was the only person not charging anything - and he feels differently about the Wood films now.
I remember Ben Chapman wanted something like $50. George "The Animal" Steele wanted $10 on a b/w for his role in Ed Wood. Delores Fuller wanted little (from Glen or Glenda) and, after a nice and real talk, she revealed the original angora sweater that drove Ed Wood crazy, removed it from its case and let me stroke it for a while. This is right up there with wine with Audrey Hepburn.
I know Bela G. from when I acquired the original 35mm print of Ed Wood's Glen or Glenda from 1952/53. Bela Had requested I screen for his people at DuArt in NYC which was a blast. I obviously do not own a 35mm projector, so to see my film in a full size theater with only 4 cushioned lounge recliners was awesome!
Anyway, the letter, from Bela G's offices, includes a photo of "Dad" which is either of the stock from the last batch Bela signed in 1954-56, or (likely) a family reprint by Bela G. for this express purpose. Either way, I am pleased to have such a photo from the Lugosi family which will compliment the signature of "dad" that I seek.
The last image is a set of frames taken from my 35mm master of Glen or Glenda by Ed Wood from the collection of George Weiss, the original producer, who likely bought this print from Ed for $1 to fund some liquor ridden afternoon in 1953 or '54. Original Pathe tins, R&R paperwork and letters etc.

The same group all appeared at various times at The Monster Bash Conference in the Pittsburgh area. I got to know Richard Gordon fairly well he was a producer and knew Karloff and Lugosi quite well. He was a very kind man who refused to take any money I offered for his autograph. Sadly few went up to his table so I always made a point to go and talk to him. Bela, Jr. is a talented attorney and won a lawsuit when the heirs of the Three Stooges were at odds. Conrad Brooks sells a lot of pictures of himself with Bela Lugosi. Ben Chapman was a real character fortunately he was only charging about $20 the times I met him. Delores Fuller was nice though had nothing good to say about Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal of her. Ron Chaney was at the conference last year. Sarah Karloff is often there and always friendly. It will soon be mostly relatives of stars who will attend these conventions as the older stars fade away.
