There a story about him and his wife Donna on RipOff Report from August of 2012.

The author of that 4 year old complaint says the Shores operate a pawn shop.

What a sweetheart...

That they arrested him at all is almost a miracle, Don. In this case they bought the first thing from him in 2012, and here it's only early 2016. That's actually pretty quick for the FBI and the Justice Department to get something together.

Once the FBI does their investigation, they have to get a US Attorney to sign off on it so they can pursue criminal charges. Because of the nature of autographs, that often isn't easy to do. I guarantee you that the fraudulent uniforms were what made this case happen.

That's probably exactly right, Steve.  
The phony uniforms make their case.
And I'd guess that Major League Baseball pushed them to act and provided assistance.
