Hello, all. I acquired a shirt worn by Angus Young in concert and then signed by AC/DC members at a record-store signing the day after the concert. It belonged to a collector who worked security at our venue, who caught it and kept it folded up in a box for over 35 years. He had a picture of the band signing it, but apparently his ex-wife threw it away. Obviously never washed. Still has Angus's sweat stains on it! I'm almost certain of its authenticity but wonder if any AC/DC collectors can agree the signatures are real and have ANY idea what this item is worth. Thanks!

I agree - it may well be possible to confirm. John, lets say a letter from AC/DC personnel, or some such, was obtained stating "...Young's shirts are identified by the custom Hornes School Wear tag at the neck..." - what would this be worth then?
if its 1979 eara and band signed .probably only one
I could get 5 to 10 k in the right auction and that's because ac/dc is very hot now and bon erea.
I would start with with the person who does there wardrobe and yes theres a wardrobe person on every tour. there just called stylist now.
+1 - my thinking exactly.
Yes, I did post a photo of Bon's signature, with the others. I didn't think to mention Bon specifically because I was thinking of the shirt being worn by Angus. But, being a huge fan of Bon Scott - I think he was rock n roll's greatest singer - and AC/DC, Bon's autograph should mean as much to me as the shirt, if not more.
Unless you have eliminated the label you can't say "NO PROOF" IMO. It is "currently" unknown.
I'd start with the original owner of this. Get as much information as possible in writing. When, where, and other pertinent details. That's piece of evidence one. Then I would contact the company that produced the shirt. Look for photos from that particular concert. Maybe even trying to contact Young's agent with all you know and see if you can get a response. Details; details; details. I would also get authenticity papers on the signatures. It will be worth the effort.

Not a textiles man myself. To me the main issues in terms of value would be:
1. The fragile nature of textiles in certain environmental conditions.
2. The fading of the signatures.
3. The placement of the signatures, Can they all be seen at the same time?
4. The need for bulky and expensive box-framing.
5. The provenance.
I wouldn't be too hung up myself on whether Angus wore the shirt (point 5) but I can imagine most others would take a different view. For what it's worth I personally doubt that someone would bother to get the boys to sign somebody else's sweat-stained white shirt or whether the boys would have been prepared to sign it. Back when Bon was alive there also wouldn't have been such a financial incentive to be this imaginative.
