Are Elton John signatures this consistent? Genuine? Thanks.

Elton can be fairly consistent, but I am on the fence with those.

Thanks, Richard. The top one I obtained from an AFTAL dealer awhile back from the UK whom I have done a lot of business with over an extended period of time. Not had any problems with him before.

The bottom one is being offered by an RACC dealer out of Germany which has a good reputation as an in person dealer. Here is the link to that current listing.

What throws me off is the same red ink collector notation and the same date. Appears to be the same paper and ink as well.

According to my connection this date coincides with his appearance on the Terry Wogan Show. My source states mine was sold and the proceeds went to Terry's children's charity although I cannot verify that.

Just trying to make sure these are on the up and up.

Heres mine on ebay

Thanks, Alan. Yours is definitely Elton. Although it's a different era I believe. Nice signature!

The name and date don't look like the same handwriting on both. The signatures themselves are remarkably similar though. I know Elton can be pretty consistent at times, but these look so consistent that they concern me.

I'd ask here first and get an opinion from Roger if you want to buy one. Be sure to show him both.

Both have certain positives but they just look a little off to me

Thanks, Dan. I appreciate your input. It's a signature that looks good initially but does seem slightly offbeat.

Another two extremely similar Alan Rickman from the same two sellers.

Oh well, let's just go for three!

TWO sets of items of the same date?

The inconsistency in the manner the date is written on the Elton's is odd.

There is something here that does not pass the smell test. What are the odds of two different sellers coming up with strikingly similar signatures on the same day? The Rickman "To Tom" signatures are really odd and, in all the years I've done this, I've never seen this happen. Must have been a lot of "Toms" at Haymarket Theatre that day!

Both sellers have good reputations and been in business for many years but there is a problem in my opinion. Too many coincidences.
