Ebay sent this to my inbox for possible purchase!

A Babe Ruth baseball offered by a really dumb eBay seller (mikechitdangles-7).  He’s selling a Babe Ruth autographed baseball.  But there are problems.  First of all, Babe Ruth stopped putting quotation marks around his first name about the year 1927.  The ball signed however, is a Ford Frick National League baseball.  Ford Frick balls weren’t produced until 1935 so that’s the earliest year the Babe could have possibly signed it. And finally, the autograph looks fake anyway.

Ebay is always sending me emails with forged items attached to the email.

The majority of my "Watch" list consists of forgeries and Ebay flags that (via their algorithm) and then they send emails to "interested" buyers.

By the way, that "Babe Ruth" is a laughable forgery.

this has always bugged me.  Its one thing for ebay to sit idly while crooks peddle their junk, but to actively solicit potential buyers seems to put this at another legal level.

I have always stated, that in my opinion, is an enabler of the forgeries listed and sold on their auction site.

I couldn’t agree more.  And I think there may be those novice or casual collectors who think, “Well ebay wouldn’t recommend this to me if they weren’t certain it was real.  I think I’ll buy it!”  But eBay’s thinking, “Alright...more money in our pockets!”
