Late 90s collecting was rough. That’s when Operation Bullpen was at its peak. The Marino brothers were selling thousands of fake autographs, primarily sports but other areas as well. Finally the FBI brought them down. Thank goodness. But their nefarious ware is still floating around the hobby. I’m not saying the OP is from the Marino brothers, but the late 90s was their peak period I believe.

Thanks James, I actually spoke to the FBI and they came to my house to pick up all kinds of memorabilia (balls pics & bats) with COA'S from Stans Sports & others. I have the info packed away and I can't recall the agents name that was in charge. After the trial was over I received a check for partial restitution anyway. Joe
