Hi, I have been an avid follower of this thread and Autograph Live for quite some time and have now just gotten around to joining.  I'm so glad that there is an avenue for people to go to for informed and honest information to protect themselves and the hobby.

First, let me just say, I have ZERO intention of selling this item.  Given all of the recent auctions and sales I've been seeing - with skyrocketing prices - I was curious to get informed thoughts on the open market / auction value of my photo.  There is no question, whatsoever, regarding it's authenticity, I just wanted to share this with all of you and get a feel for what people's opinions are regarding it's value.

Thanks again and I look forward to all of your thoughts and opinions.  Thanks!

I agree with goodcat that the OP question seems a touch odd unless the purpose is to get an insurance value. If an insurance value is what is wanted the easiest thing would be to ask a dealer for an official (and sky high) valuation - I would think an insurer would want something more official than the views of forum members.

I totally agree with Eric that an 11x14 is a far different animal. Usually far, far rarer than a 10x8 so you cannot just say that the 10x8 is worth 70-80% (for example) of the 11x14. Another issue is whether the photo is signed or stamped by Hoffman and whether the 11x14 was.

I am not a dealer and I do not track auction results but $35k sounds a lot to me, especially if you are talking about a net amount after selling at auction. Even if the published sale result, including buyer's premium, were $50k the seller would probably end up with less than $35k.

Yeah no doubt. Sounds like the original poster is more in the know on Beatles values then most here. Obviously he follows them. He just wanted a little attention.

All aside it’s a super nice piece. I never really got into Beatles stuff mainly price and because I’m poor. I’d probably be just as proud as you are if it were mine.

There's no argument against this being a nice photo. However, Rfitzz; it looks like you know more about this photo's authenticity and value than others here. And that's understandable since you own it.

Which leads me to wonder - as goodcat mentioned, what's the point of this thread? Adulation?

Again, nice item. On behalf of the others here, congrats on owning it.

I would estimate this would probably go for 20-25 grand at one of the big auction houses which would certainly make it one of the highest 8x10 Beatles promo photos. The larger sized ones or concert photos are worth more.  It's not perfect as the Lennon is rushed/cut off and the McCartney has some contract issues. For it to achieve a higher price it would have to be flawless.

Here is a near perfect one with incredible sharp signatures that sold at Heritage for 42k after commission.

WOW Juice !!!

that is flawless almost to perfection on so many counts

Good heavens, that was my guess after looking at Frank's offerings.

Awesome sauce

20-25K  HAMMER PRICE !!!!

Bidding is now closed haha

Bruce, thank you for your thoughtful response.  Concert photos are indeed VERY rare and quite valuable.  This one you posted is unbelievable, one of the best I have ever seen, so 42k doesn't surprise me.  The Lennon is definitely the "weak point" of my photo, but the Iconic Dezo Hoffman photo (easily one of the most recognizable of Beatles images) have become very rare autographed items (surprisingly).  I don't believe there is another signed 11 x 14 of that image in existence. Perhaps you are right that 20-25k is the range - if that is the case, I will sure be kicking myself for turning down 35.  Good part is: there will always be a market for Beatles autographs and they will always increase in value over time.  Thanks again, love that picture !
