These look good to me. Very beautiful.
It looks good to me too. Nice set.
Would you keep the dedication or would you remove the top part and keep everything from The Beatles down?
I would leave it as-is. Felicity means happiness.
+100...that as well!
? Remove? Joking? Mat it out if anything, but why? It is beautiful and so very well preserved, so far, for 63 years. Please, don't lobotomize this and make an off-kilter oddity. That dedication/inscription "Lots of love" is superb and a fixed point in time. It is also about 38% of the paper...
If it were me I would not even remotely consider altering the piece in any way, even if it could be done neatly. Of course, in this case, there is no way to edit out the dedication without it being obvious that something else was there.
If the inscription bothers you please look for another example and leave this one for someone who appreciates originality.
I agree and I was contemplating removing Jane Curtins inscription from my SNL item. There is a huge difference with mine being slightly glossy and with an uncured paint pen... JK is spot on. You brought me back to reality on my item even though it was still possible most likely without damage.
For this item, the ONLY way to remove anything is to cut it off. But why? The inscription is McCartney's hand and he can't even write a full signature these days. As someone who has been down this road before with many items, I wouldn't even hide this inscription. It's beautiful as is.
If you own this and are set on displaying it, use a shadowbox with some creativity and don't even think about removing the full page. I'm curious though, is this an autograph book with other signatures?
Yes in an actual book with signatures on the opposite page.
Tricky. Maybe a shadowbox with a front face door which can be opened for access anytime. Remove to enjoy other signatures whenever you like. I personally would display this opened to show the signatures only once in a while briefly this way while keeping it locked away hidden from light most of the time.
Very well preserved set -- must have been kept in a drawer all these years. Perhaps would go for 6-7 grand at auction. (With the "to Felicity," the Lennon being almost upside down, and the Ringo sideways, I'd grade this a 7 our of 10).
I think it would likely bring $10,000+.
