Hi all,

I purchased a set of Bob Dylan signed Mondo Scripto prints a couple of years ago from Castle Art.

The recent S&S book controversy is making me uneasy about the authenticity of the “hand-signed” signatures on the prints.

How can I tell if the signatures are autopen/are there any forum members who also may have any of these prints so we can compare signatures?

Look on R&R auctions former listed stuff. Find Dylan’s sigs and prints. They’ve had them listed. Epperson will give a COA for all their stuff. Look for a crossed y

This is the last known good IP Dylan autograph that I'm aware of. I know this might not help further the discussion much but thought some may find it interesting. I believe the Pawn Stars skit was the year prior.

I should have posted these here as well as in the other thread. Here are some links to manuscripts to study his handwriting

you can find many examples to his handwriting with a quick google search

studying these has lead me to believe, in a round about way, that this is a good match.. meaning the signatures with crossed Y's are written by Dylan

I get what you are saying.. my point is merely stating that Bob Dylan has signed in this crossed Y style.. It means signatures cant be associated with possibly being forged purely based on having a crossed Y

I am not done researching. I agree with you on some points but from all that I have seen, my opinion leans opposite of yours, at least for the time being. There is still a lot more to research. I've been busy and can only do so much in small spurts but I will do my best to give as many examples as possible if I ever get to where I'm 100% convinced one way or another

I go back and forth with the crossed Y.  I know I missed it, but what authentic one did he sign that way?

Adding a readily recognizable difference from a standard signature is not unheard of.  Charlton Heston's secretary signed his as "Challton" Heston.  Did Dylan do this?  That is the $600 or $3500 or whatever his artwork goes for, question.

Having said that it goes over and over in my mind that Dylan is an "artist."  I do not know many artists that would want anyone signing something they did even if it was recreating their signature.

That is why I put it in quotes lol.

That's LOL funny.

Of course I didn't book mark the link.. but I did save the picture. a quick search and I found this link.. he must have made multiple copies which is a bit interesting

here is the picture I saved from a different link.

Here is the other copy so you dont have to go to that link to compare

My Mondo Scripto

An official statement / explanation / apology has just been posted on Dylan's official Facebook.

Thanks, everyone, for all the great work/posting this update.

I purchased a set of Mondo Scripto prints that were released in late 2020, so this seems to confirm they weren’t really signed by him? So frustrating and disappointing.
