Could you post a closeup of the autograph? If the seller doesn't have one posted, that's a bad sign in and of itself.

yeah exactly what i was thinking, that's all I have. The seller says it was used by clapton in montreux jazz in 1992. Here's another blurry image of some pass for eric clapton's name in all areas, so that's the only thing that made me think it can be true.

That guitar doesn't look like it existed in 1992.

This is what i thought too but then I found this image. it looks like he was actually using the exact same model in 1992 (fender start clapton signature).

The design has been out for years. But the guitar you posted is in brand new condition, with no signs of age or wear.

you're right it looks in really perfect condition

Seller probably googled that same flyer photo and made up the story around it. I agree with Steve. That thing looks brand new.

I wish you had a close-up images, but it looks like a common style of forgery we've seen many times before. I've seen many offered by Bryan Slaven, who used to own AutographCentral.com. Slaven got rid of that domain name and it's now being used by a legit dealer specializing in Star Wars who for years ran under the name autographcentral.net. The dealer obvously didn't know anything about Slaven's reputation.

Who's offering it for sale?

he didn't answer my email yet, so all i know for the moment is that he lives in geneva

From what I can see it doesn't look like a genuine signature from Eric Clapton. Is the guitar signed twice? Once on the pick guard and once on the body?

in description it's just said signed, but I've noticed also yesterday it's signed on pick guard and body. It seems weird that he would sign twice

The pickups are Duncan Designed meaning china specials. They never had that deal to put cheapo P/U's in a stratocaster back in 1992. That guitar in the photo above is a made in mexico strat or even an american strat which might be 1500 bucks new but no 1992 anything guitar. Made in mexico strats are 500 bucks new. Back then maple necks like above were custom jobs, never off the shelf.
