David Gilmour. Interest PSA Quick Opinion

Just was contacted today that my David Gilmour signature was rendered "Not Likely Genuine" by PSA Quick Opinion. Needless to say, my buyer is irate. I've had this one for awhile with no one questioning this signature. Am I missing something?

PSA quick opinion and regular opinions these days are awful. Makes me laugh when people put so much stick in them. They are ok owning a forgery as long as it has a PSA or BAS sticker. Dealing with amateur or wanna be collectors can be a challenge.

This signature looks spot on to me. I would own it no matter what PSA said.

Say to the guy to get a quick opinion from roger epperson. say that psa is more sports stuff  witch it is really, and roger is the music man. Only cost about $15 dollars as you know. You could offer  to pay for it to keep the peace and feedback  knowone wants a fake feedback back, when you know its real., so try and redeem yourself  with the buyer. Thats what i would do any way.

I've already been talking to the buyer. At least, I think they now see that PSA is not perfect. I understand people can get emotional when they think they've been had. We've seen it on this site here over and over. But, I'm easy to work with when reasonable minds are at work. Main thing is that the autograph is genuine and that is what matters.

Actually, it already has a COA from Floyd Authentic. You would think that would be enough.

How on earth did this fail a quick opinion? I would highly appreciate if you made that buyer's ebay ID public so I can add them to my block list. Honest sellers like us don't need these kinds of people ruining our reputation because a terrible company like psa decides to muck up yet again on an authentic signature. It's so funny, I see more forgeries being authenticated by this company and them failing authentic signatures more and more lately. Completely laughable at best. It's like watching Global Authentics all over again. Maybe bring your buyer to this forum so they can see how much of a fool they look like. Sorry if I seem like I'm salty, but I'm a tad sick and tired of seeing the good guys constantly taking a beating while crooks are still able to sell fakes openly with impunity, psa authenticated or not. Sorry this happened to you, Joe. It shouldn't have!

I already provided a link to this discussion to the buyer. I do believe in transparency. Not everyone is on the same level of experience in this hobby. In fact, many are not collectors but fans of a particular person or buying a gift for someone. I can see how alarming this process can be to the less informed.

I understand the initial buyer reservation but find it hard to swallow that PSA was so quick to render a "not likely genuine" quick opinion even when they clearly could see the Floyd Authentic COA was included. So unprofessional, IMO.

The PSA quick opinion is more disturbing than the buyer's initial reaction. Although, the buyer has now revised the negative feedback and hopefully things will work out in the end. 

Actually, this discussion is more for the benefit of the buyer than myself. It, at least, opened up a broader group of discussion rather than me trying to convince the buyer that PSA got it wrong without backup.

You're right. PSA's decision on this one was absolutely despicable. The problem is there is no repercussions for them. They can get away with every bad opinion they give because of "beginner" collectors and other people who put them on a pedestal and deem them the best authority on autographs. PSA is laughable. Sure, they get lots right, but mostly sports. Music isn't their thing, and boy oh boy, they need to stay away from entertainment autographs. After years of studying and researching, PSA gets entertainment wrong about 50-70% of the time. Anyone who buys actor/actress autographs authenticated by psa, is taking a serious risk with their money. Best to collect entertainment in person or buy from someone with a bulletproof reputation for getting them in person themselves or knows the autographs.
