5" Classic Dirty Harry movie "Do You Feel Lucky Punk?" vinyl sticker. Clint Eastwood, 44 Magnum NRA decal for safe, car, truck,

Lol, pretty much like that

Don’t want to sound rude, but it invariably will, I am following this thread as I am a big DG fan and waiting for restocks etc, but all it is, is shipping and stuff is there no where else you can discuss this?

Agree, Allginger, and I really do not care being rude with people polluting the forum !  And this is like this in 80% of the threads... Not counting the comments "missed it", "dang did not see it" and other stupid useless comments.

In the early days, when this was not a forum but a huge thread (some 5 years ago now...), all messages were about new items or significant restocks.

As a result, commited collectors (like us...) are now wasting a huge amount of time reading boring comments.

This has consequences. A few years ago, I would post several sources every week (I buy 1 to 5 signed items per week...). Now I hardly take time to post anything, because the time wasted to follow the existing threads does not allow people working otherwise to actually take part in the show...

The forum is about musicians signing, not collectors waiting for their UPS parcel or being sorry for not getting a Gilmour or a Taylor Swift autograph (this happens to all of us at one point or another)...

Note though that on the other hand, some comments are very useful, like the ones regarding autopen and fakes (see the Dylan story 2 years ago !).

Why even open comments that youre not concerned with? It takes up next to none of my time. I get an email notification that has a preview of what has been commented, I glance at the notification, see if its anything important, if not, i never even open the forum. Maybe takes 2-5 seconds to do in real time. No different than scanning thru any other emails I get to see if theyre important or not. Sure it's takes up time technically speaking, but not a lot.

I think some people write "missed it" because then it automatically subscribes you to the thread so you can get updated if theres a restock someone posts. Similar to people typing "Following" on Facebook instead of just hitting the follow button. I've been guilty of that myself, but now try to just hit follow silently.

You can also unfollow the specific topic, and just follow the main feed, and check back specific ones manually when you feel like wasting time. You dont have to follow every topic. Sure you wont get updates as fast, but if the update emails bother you so much, you don't have to get them.

Some parts of this forum are fairly dead, I've noticed if I post anything there I don't get responses as much as when its posted in one of these threads. So yes, mail topics aren't necessarily related to DG autographs but its helpful info for those that have to use forwarding services. Not to mention, part of being on a forum is interacting with others on the forum, BSing with people who share your likes. Unless its fully off topic, like I start asking how your family is doing, then I dont see much harm in interaction that isn't perfectly tied into the exact autograph, as long as its helpful info related to what were talking about, or jokes, or something interesting that loosely relates to the topic. I'm not just here for a robot that spits out where to buy autographs. Sure it can be argued this is the wrong place for conversing but I dont see much harm in it.

Just my long 2 cents... maybe 6 or 7 cents for as much as I wrote. Lol

Apologies, but the intent of my comments were mainly to inform. The only way for me to get a DG book in the U.S. was to use a forwarding service which from what I understand a few collectors may have also done on this forum as bookshop does not ship to the US.

As of now what is going on is relatively new and is something that will affect all US collectors who are buying books, vinyls, etc. outside of the country. The intent is mainly to inform. It is within the best interest of the collector to know this and if I can look out for a fellow collector and protect someone from incurring additional fees from not knowing so be it. I am thankful for this group for looking out for me also. I will only comment again if forwardvia opens up Royal Mail as an option for shipping to the states to help anyone else out. Apologies for any offense you may have taken from my comments.

Has anyone seen these come into stock anywhere? Absolutely desperate for one!

Just got mine from Waterstones delivered to the US. It actually shipped from over here which I wasn't expecting. Book is shrinkwrapped and has no signs of it being autographed, but it is and it looks really nice.

 mcnish

Remove the shrink wrap.

Open the front cover, the bookplate should be glued to the inside of the front cover,

left hand side with the book open in front of you (such that if you tried to remove the

bookplate and your knife went through, it would scar the actual front cover of the book).

Bet ya, it's there. that's where mine was, fingers crossed for you, JJ

Oh that is what I meant. Was just warning people that it is shrinked and doesn't mention being signed, but it is and looks great. Thanks
