A little less than 48 hours ago I posted a whole series of eBay listings from sellers offering fake Tiger Woods "signed" items.
Now, if we are going to hold sellers responsible for their listings when they are bad I feel it is only right and proper to praise then when they respond and "do the right thing".
The eBay seller of one of the Tiger "signed" golf balls is AUTHENTICMEMORABILIACO and the person behind this name and the listing has been in contact with me and I am happy to report that he has :
(1) Removed the listing from eBay, and
(2) Used a black sharpie to deface the ball\signature and sent me photographic evidence to show that.
Effectively this seller has PERMANENTLY removed this dreadful piece from the autograph community so never again can it rear its ugly head :)
Having corresponded with this seller I now wish to point out to everyone that ...
I believe that this seller bought this ball in good faith and listed it on eBay in good faith too.
Sadly, situations like his are far too frequent - he was duped.
BUT NOW - HE HAS DONE THE RIGHT THING :)
The seller has done the only honourable thing. By removing the listing and de-facing the ball he has effectively stopped anyone else by being duped by this ball.
THAT IS THE WAY A LEGITIMATE, HONOURABLE AUTOGRAPH DEALER BEHAVES AND HE DESERVES HE HIGHEST PRAISE FOR THAT ..... talk is cheap but this bloke has "walked the walk" :)
AML and an autograph seller at there very best :)
Best wishes
David

I agree with you, David.
Well written thread.
David,
I edited the title. Hope you don't mind.
No worries mate - you did a much better job :)
yep, well done to David for such a well written article and also well done to the seller for being correct.
Hi Michelle, yes - isn't it great when sellers actually do the right thing :) Best wishes, David.
No threats of lawsuits? No over reaction? No lies upon lies?
Holy cow we found a honest seller
Holy cow indeed, Rock :) Cheers mate, David.
If this hobby was what it should be, something like this wouldn't need to be glorified, it would be common sense and practice.
Mike - how right you are. Sadly, there are still some sellers who put defrauding people out of a few dollars above their personal integrity and reputation. This however, is "leadership by example" and as you can see from some of the comments beginning to appear here, this seller has done his reputation no harm at all :) Cheers, David
