Hello everybody

I am a novice collector and I would like to request a little of help because I only want to collect authentic autographs.

I've just purchased a few signed photos from the ebay seller CALVI-MARCE.

Can anyone tell me if his autographs are genuine please ?

Thank you very much for your precious help !

Here are the photos I have bought :

tu as bonne raison, je pense.   A genuine Led Zepplin goes for thousands of pounds , not for the amount that he sold one for ,

Here are a few others he sold in the past

Bogie at thecead.com

Hello again,

I can't say I like the two I looked at here - the second Gable or the Bogart - that Bogart appears to be his secretarial? Near a looped "y" and so many letters after the "ph" combination?

Eric

Notice that they all have the same handwriting characteristics. Whoever bought these are in for an unpleasant surprise someday.

Wow Michelle,

I did not even see the Zeppelin and whatever else. I was looking for McQueen exemplars. Etienne should certainly back out if with that sort of thing going on. In looking at Hayworth 1960-61 at thecead, that may well be a secretarial - it is 5 am. I'm too tired - but you can see them yourself here:

The McQueen, Hayworth, Garbo, Gable, and Bogart all look bad to me. AVOID. IMO.

from the vintage ones that I have jus t seen and am more familiar with; like the garbo and the bogart  and the gable; - they really don't look right.

Do you mean Gardner or Dietrich ? I don't see any Garbo photo.

This seller sells rather fakes if I understand. Sad... :-(

Lee, Heston, Gable, McQueen & Bogart are all poor fakes.

If this has all been offered by one seller.....you best run far away.

It is disgusting and, appalling ! This guy makes a lot of money selling his autographs.

People trust him.  I trusted him. How to stop that?

The partial answer is simple and not expensive. Education, Etienne :) You already started.

Slow and deliberate purchases well founded with research into the signature and the value. Yesterday I saw someone spend $300 or so in a $80-$130 item and all one had to do was look at recent results.

Eric

Hello Eric and everybody

Here is what the seller wrote to me :

I sell on eBay for 10 years ! I have 3 sessions ! If you start your collection it's good, but you will need a lot of money if you buy with certificate at the professional dealers who practise extremely high prices ! I purchased them rare autographs, but I lost a lot of money by reselling them ! I have bought for thousands of euros what I would have been able to find without COA for 10 times cheaper!  The autographs which you have purchased to me come from American or English private collections and have no certificates ! It's up to you if you follow up or not !

Thank you very much for your time,

Etienne
