about three years ago, i spotted this baseball signed by Ruth on Craigslist -emailed the seller who was coming out to California from Florida and we finally settled on a price of $10,000. the ball had a COA from PSA/DNA. we met and the paperwork and ball matched up perfectly. paid and did an exchange. that night, i contacted PSA/DNA and found out the paperwork was bad (no watermark) and the signature was a good forgery. got ahold of the seller, who was surprised and we met again for thhe refund. now, three years later, i'm in China looking at LIVEAUCTIONEERS.COM and lo and behold i spot the ball in a Four Seasons Gallery auction:

Mike thanks for the info, but we have no way to tell about the ball. We do
not have any paperwork with this ball, came from a collector in Florida. We
have no intention of selling a forgery, that is why the terms of the auction
are clear, that if you are uncertain of the details of any object in our
auction and have chosen not to inspect the item or get a proffessional
opinion on your own, then DO NOT BID, in our terms in bold letters. You are
more than welcome to send  any expert in to see the ball, we want you to be
happy with what you purchase from us, however that is your reponsibility to
preview and inspect items to your satisfaction. We are an honest company in
business for 31 years, but we believe in personal responsibility. If you are
a collector and would like to add the ball to your collection, we suggest
you have someone look at it for you. happy bidding, thanks STeve

Subject: Babe Ruth baseball

i believe the Babe Ruth baseball coming up for auction on your site is
a forgery. three years ago, i bought this ball from a private seller on
Craigslist for $10,000. at that time, the ball was accompanied with a
COA from PSA/DNA. ater purchasing this ball, i had PSA/DNA look at the
ball. this inspection turned out the ball was forgered as was the
paperwork from PSA/DNA (no watermark). luckily, the person i purchased
the ball from was an honest man and i was able to get a refund.
i would suggest pulling the ball from your auction and getting an
expert opinion before trying to sell it.

after getting the kiss-off reply with the cheerful happy bidding remark, i researched a little more on the internet and found some articles of a Largo, Florida investigation and arrest.
what to do next, remember i'm in China at the moment? i decided to contact the Georgia branch of the FBI with the information.

so, if you're interested in buying a Babe Ruth single signed ball, please avoid this one
