I bought this from Roger Epperson years ago and it's been sitting in a box, unframed. I don't have room for it, so I'm thinking of selling it. Any idea what I can get for it?
Inscribed: To Larry-"Keep the Change!" Harry Chapin
There's a whole punched top right corner but otherwise in really nice shape. No record is included.

Hello,
Looking quickly at RR closed auctions perhaps something in the area of $250-300 or a bit more? One this year, March 2016, "Keep the change, Harry" $269.50 in ballpoint but not the same album. With the exception of one SP and an ALS, nothing for the last 8 years went over $270 at RR.

Thanks. I think the marker and album add a lot to the value of the album, but when I bought it from Roger it was probably in the $250 range. I don't remember.
Hi Steve,
Well, it is a lovely and strong example. You know this is the only area I can stand anything beyond fountain or ball point etc. Your item will make a nice presentation too, as the signature and inscription oppose and balance the dark "Taxi" label/sticker on the right. Its a classic album & pose too. I recall when he died - not far from where I was living. I might be tempted to keep this sort of thing.

That's a beautiful piece, Steve.
Thanks, Chris. I love it, too.
it really is a nice example of Chapin's signature. most of the ones I have seen are in pen and barely readable. but even at that, I would be surprised if you get more than what you paid for it.
Interesting. He signed that much or just not that popular?
I never really saw the demand. I've been looking on and off for one of his signatures over the years, and they never seem to command much of a premium. difficult to understand really. I will add that I have not seen many signed albums. there is one currently on Fee-Bay with a BIN of $749.00. in ink.
Very nice!
Growing up, Harry was on the radio all the time. Then in the 90's his concerts were always a part of the public broadcasting fund raisers for our local PBS station.
I picked this up on the bay for like $60 a couple years ago.
I think he still has plenty of fans, but from what I have been told, he never refused an autograph request, and would sign for hours after shows until anyone and everyone got what they wanted.
My two cents on it.
I bought a Chapin signature years ago for $50, but...it was a rather sloppy signature (his usually was). Yours is nice, and on the yellow-- very beautiful.
Two main problems. First...it's personalized. A lot of people don't like that, and it lowers the value. Second, he just wasn't that popular AND he signed a lot over the years. Now, a Jim Croce would be a lot more. Third, you should sell it to me. And I'll let you keep the change!
