This is written inside a copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends that I purchased. I don't even know if the signature is actually supposed to say Shel or if that's just my wishful thinking because if it is there are obviously some extra loops that shouldn't be in there. Neither the handwriting nor the signature are consistent with any Shel signature I've ever seen or been able to find but the S is similar enough that I still have the tiniest of hope, especially because the year of 1999 when he passed away would make this one of his last signatures. Basically my question is has anyone ever come across an example of Shel Silverstein's handwriting/signature that have any resemblance to this?
