I've yet to see a unauthentic one of these fan club letters but I'm not 100% sold on this one. Price is low and seller says no returns so want to be sure.

Nope. The person who did their fan mail said none were signed by the band.

Probably a better resource than you or Beckett or PSA who frequently cert these. The ones shown in this thread are not real.

No, my source worked with the band and their fan club.  Most if not all of the letters that went out prior to mid October 1991 that were color coded were real.  Plus there is the matter of the handwriting matching known samples from the band in that era.  Handwriting is as unique as a fingerprint and I had some of the best forensic hand writing experts (who are able to testify as witnesses in court) confirm the handwriting is a match.  So obviously your friend gave you information that isn't completely accurate, but letters that went out and were postmarked before Oct 14, 1991 were signed by the band.  Also, the secretaries did not bother using different colors and it's not hard to tell if something is signed by the same person.  You have your sources that you trust, I have mine, lets just agree to dissagree.

Here's the thing. The guy that nailed these out said the band did not sign them. Said that. In no uncertain terms. I know this for a fact. Was asked if they ever signed them- he said no. Why would he lie? The only reason these are considered real is that a group of collectors said they were.

PSA has no clue, Roger Epperson just looks to who he thinks are Nirvana experts, these TPAs, when it comes to Nirvana, really dont have a good track record.

Literally talked to the guy who signed them. He said, yeah I signed them all. He wasnt thinking that it would matter.

And we get "Oh PSA in Long Beach thinks they are real because the guy on Autograph Live said they are real..."

They are not authentic. The Nirvana experts here are wrong all the time, in fact they sell their mistakes to you all.

That is not Dave Grohl's signature. Show me a non fan club letter example that looks like that. You cant. That is not Chris' signature. Show me a non fan club letter example. It's almost as if the guy who said he signed for all 3, actually is telling the truth.

yes chris signed chris

Yeah, this is news to me.  What are others saying here?

The one thing I pick up from every Nirvana discussion I’ve ever seen is you need rock-solid provenance. I’d say the jury is out on these, making them a very risky buy. For these reasons, I’m OUT.

Epic risk involved with Nirvana - no room for even a hint of doubt.
