This is from eBay seller thenovascotiakid. Janis Joplin apparently came back to life to sign this reel to reel copy of “Pearl.” This is from the auction description:
SOURCE: This item came from the 4000+ piece collection of a second generation collector from the U.S.A with a lifetime of collecting and a stellar reputation who inherited a large collection of old and rare signatures spanning the early 1900s to present. He's earned a perfect record on ebay after selling 1000s of items.
I am an honest, serious collector and would never sell something I believe is not authentic. I do extensive reviews of anything I sell, and have a close friend who has authenticated for Disney and hard rock hotels if I need a second opinion... I only buy from dependable collectors who I research first and develop relationships with, or obtain myself...

True. This one takes the cake though.
This sort of thing really ticks me off. It presupposes you are an idiot. Or, it could just speak to the forgers...genius.
Yes, I would guess that it’s the latter.
I reported it to eBay. I'm waiting for their "We've investigated this and found no violation of eBay's policies"
Thanks Bruce. That would be hilarious. I also reported it to eBay.
Same here. For a while they were removing the factual and the obvious like this, but now I don't know.
Thanks Eric. I hadn’t reported an item in quite awhile, but this one is over the top.
Ebay's reply to my complaint:

Here are the listings you reported that are included in this decision:
Item: 265944725975 JANIS JOPLIN signed 'PEARL' REEL TO REEL
I got the "hold on we are looking into it and will notify you of our decision"...
It will be interesting to see what if anything happens.
I just called ebay direct at: 866-540-3229 and got a live person right away. I explained the issue and they said they would elevate the claim --- so we'll see if it finally gets removed.
