Good to know about the edition, thanks for noting that. I guess it’s unclear for now when exactly these came into existence.Mine just arrived, and I had the exact same issue with the packaging not being fully taped shut:
However, the rest of the packaging was fine as you described and the book does not appear to have any damage.

Mine arrived today with the bookplate upside down. A little frustrating because Jimmy Page was at the top of my list to get. Is this worth complaining about or should I just let it go and be happy to have gotten one?

For everyone who has received a copy which has been defective in some way I would suggest a collective email demanding compensation of sorts. If they have sold out, chances are that they are unable to replace your copy and I am sure few people will actually want to send it back for a full refund (which you are entitled to do).
You are covered by distance-selling regulations and you have been sold goods which don't match the description in some way. Best bet would be to request a partial refund, i.m.h.o. A reasonable request would be in the region of - say - £50.
I certainly would not let it go if it were me.

It took a week for them to get back to me and my issue was resolved well. They did confirm that they have no signed copies left though however.
